The issue opens up with Bladehelm speaking about Mount Galatia – which means ‘Mountain of Safe Haven.’ Bladehelm goes on to describe everything from the magnificent forges, to the Great Hall of Kragarak. He also spoke of how the High Kings had given his people a millennia of peace and because of it, vigilance had become only an obscure tradition.

Then on that terrible day, a star was seen in the sky – bright red, like blood spilling across the sky. That star was none other than the terrible dragon, Belegard. The dragon brought with him destruction and chaos that was unimaginable. Those few who survived the collapsing halls, were mostly devoured by the ever hungry Belegard. The few survivors who had managed to escape, made their way down the mountain in the silence and shadows of the night, their minds numb from the event that had just happened.

Bladehelm concluded by saying that the key they sought was on the High Throne, and if he had the chance he would behead Belegard – for revenge, for his people.

Coron goes over the plan once more; in which Shadolok and Argent will draw Belegard out, while Bladehelm, Sultar and himself drop the great gate of Kragarak upon Belegard and start an avalanche. If Belegard still lived at that point, Nightwind and Dhakab would use that time to sneak into the chamber and retrieve the key.

Unaware, save for Coron, that they are being watched, Haka has three other agents of Accuris with him, waiting for the Adventurers to come out of Mount Galatia, should they live, so that they could take the key from them, while they were hurt and tired.

But the agents of Accuris are not alone in their interest in the Adventurers – others watch them too – Tarrus One-Eyed’s men!

When morning comes, Argent notices that Sultar had not slept at all. When he questions him, Sultar speaks unusually – once again, sounding like a man possessed and lacking all forms of fear. When Argent approaches Coron about Sultar, Coron belittles Argent’s observation and points out that Sultar has either gone mad, which would make him very dangerous; or he’s given in to the demon, from which he gets his powers, which would make him very deadly.

As soon as Nightwind, Argent, Shadolok and Dhakab enter The Halls of Kragarak, Belegard becomes aware of them. Belegard is able to discover information about each of them through his magical senses; and ironically, in Dhakab, he senses death.

Dhakab speaks normally, saying that he welcomes Belegard to rise, for he is ready for him. The others try to silence him, but he informs them that Belegard already knows they’re there, and what their schemes are.

Argent and Shadolok remain behind while Nightwind and Dhakab continue forward. Shadolok issues a resounding blast through the Horn of Amarath, while Argent unleashes his magic, in an attempt to awaken and draw out Belegard. Belegard responds, chasing Shadolok and Argent to the Gates of Kragarak; where Bladehelm, Coron and Sultar start the avalanche that falls upon Belegard. However it is not enough to stop the might of Belegard, and with a launch of his breath, he incinerates Argent.
