The issue opens up with Eyamma, Bladehelm, Nightwind, and Shadolok making their way through the Angora Jungle. Shadolok expresses his concern about reaching the City of Liam in time to warn them of Baal’s intentions, while Bladehelm asks if he can remove the bandages. Eyamma explains that the bandages are the only thing that might insure that Bladehelm’s vision returns one day. Nightwind offers to train Bladehelm how to blind fight – an art that the Amita K’un were forced to – not only learn – but master.

The four of them finally reach the border to the Sighing Plains and the exit out of the Angora Jungle. Here, Eyamma explains that he must part and return to his kingdom and warn them of King Belgur’s intentions. They ponder Eyamma’s return, stating that the king had sent Eyamma on a mission he believed would be the end of Eyamma’s life. Eyamma explains that he must warn them, for honor’s sake, then he will be free to move freely as he wishes.

Shadolok, Bladehelm and Nightwind say their farewells to Eyamma who begins his own journey home.

Several days later, the trio comes across thousands of Baal troops marching north, towards the City of Liam. Among the soldiers are none other than Barak and King Belgur – as well as Coron who is strapped to torture like device.

The scene shifts to below the Temple of Baal located in the City of Liam, where Guryd demands to know why Priest Muar has summoned him, unaware that they have been followed and being spied upon by none other than Sultar. Priest Muar tells Guryd to hand over the City of Liam Defense Plans or else he will never see his daughter again.

The scene shifts to showing Bladehelm, Nightwind and Shadolok fighting a small group of Baal Scouts. Bladehelm is knocked down after taking out one, and Nightwind finds herself captured. The men surround Shadolok, who swears he will never surrender, buying Nightwind the time to draw her dagger and kill one of the Baal Scouts; which is the signal for Shadolok to strike and take out another of the scouts. But another remains – who suddenly falls when a dart strikes his neck, then his eye. Eyamma shows up explaining that he saw a second Baal army marching and realized if Belgur is not stop at the City of Liam – then it wouldn’t matter who was warned next, so he returned to the others in hopes of helping them reach the City of Liam. Among the dead they find the Baal Battle Plan.

The scene cuts back to the City of Liam where Erikor and Relk seek out Captain Kuranuk – who seems more than happy to ignore them and their concerns of Guryd’s abduction at the hands of Baal soldiers.

Back to the City of Liam, beneath the Temple of Baal – Guryd hands over the City of Liam Defense Plan to Priest Muar. Guryd asks for his daughter again and Priest Muar agrees – but explains that he would have to go out of his way to reach his daughter. Guyrd agrees to anything, just to see her. Priest Muar hands Guyrd documents to sign that would appoint him High Councilor until Guryd’s return.

The scene changes yet again, where we see several Baal soldiers over looking the City of Liam from a cliff, pondering and pointing out how easy it’s going to be to over take the City of Liam, and every city to the North.

Another slight change of scene and we see Eyamma, Shadolok and Nightwind spying on the very camp overlooking Liam, and realize there’s not only two Baal armies marching against the City of Liam under King Bulgar’s rule – but three of them.

In the Belshazaar, the Baal soldiers deliver the news – and a precious gift – Coron. Kerrin the Butcher removes Coron from the post and smiles contently knowing he will have the pleasure, according to their king, to kill Coron.
