From the Corner of Madness…

… not really, as this steamy couple tied the knot.
Adam and Amanda joined together in marriage.
Check out the video from my camera over here.

Took a very spur of the moment trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood.

You can see the rest of the pictures over here but you have to be a member of the forums.

Poppy had a pretty cool house warming party. You can see the pictures if you’re a member of the forums.

Of this Blog from “Madness Reigns” to “It’s Been Awhile” since that’s just about how every one of these things is starting lately. I mean the last time I said anything on here was back in Feb 2009? Does anyone even read this? I’d think not, for the simple fact that I never post anything – so why keep checking?
Anyway – just figured I’d do a little self promotion.
I know. What a surprise right?
Is it about PirateBooty.net, NewWarriors.com or NeverendingNights.com?
No, this time it’s about LarryLaffer.net. Now that name should sound familiar to you. Larry Laffer is Al Lowe’s creation for Sierra, back in the day.
Well Sierra Online has been bought out by several companies over the years – and the most recent owners closed down all the classic Sierra game forums. So a flock of us got together to represent these games on the web. It somehow seemed fitting that I got the Leisure Suit Larry one, because of the bond Larry Laffer and I share when this photo submitted to INTERACTION MAGAZINE, owned by Sierra back in the day…

Turn into this:

So with that said – Larry and I bonded.
So let me help present Larry’s new home…
Go on and take a look!

No the subject isn’t asking where I have been – or where YOU have been specifically.
Well unless a specific plant is now sitting at my keyboard and reading my blog. That would be kind of creepy.
Anyway, back in August 2008, I had blogged about growing the potato plant – and that it time it got devoured by insects and such and died. Well I walked out today – and the same pot that the potato plant was in (never took it out) – guess what was there?
Did you guess a million dollars? If you did, you’re right.
No, unfortunately I am kidding about the million dollars. But what was there was a freshly sprung potato plant growing once again? What the heck? This was back in August when it had grown, and within weeks, died – and now it’s back again – six months later?
Very odd.
We shall see if it survives this time…

This actually happened last month (around Jan 19th or 20th?) – where I was notified that Youtube had closed and deleted my PetertheRanger account because of “repeated copyright infringement.” Naturally I wrote the folks at Youtube and asked what happened. And they sent back a canned response about “repeated copyright infringement.” So I hunted down another means of writing them – and discovered that they suddenly got notices for videos that had been up there for over 6 months (two of them were Criss Oliva Memorial videos using Savatage songs) and another one was a Brandon Lee Memorial Video. One of the Criss Oliva videos was over 2 years old on Youtube! And suddenly – these videos were tagged as “Copyright Infringement” – and so in the course of one day – I had three marks against me. So I tried to explain that – but ignorance is no excuse!
So my Youtube videos that were previously linked from my profile are no longer functioning.
I haven’t created a new Youtube profile yet. Email even said I am not supposed to. But I should just to spite them.

I just keep forgetting to do this thing. With all these things out there like MySpace (which I no longer use, other than whatever form of advertising I am doing) and Facebook (which is where you can usually find me doing picture updates and stuff) – and not that anyone read this!
But hey – it’s set up! So I might as well blab about some of it!
We took Odin out to Mt. Laguna when it was snowing out there. The snow actually got to be pretty deep, as you will see in some of the pictures of me standing there (it’s up to my knees). Odin really had a blast out there. You can see an archive over here.
We also went to San Fran for Christmas, which you can view that collection here. While we were there we also paid a visit to Napa Valley (click the link) so that Aim and Paul could do some wine tasting. We also paid a visit to the Winchester House (click the link) – where we had some fun checking out this bizarrely made house that is supposedly haunted.
Then we returned back to San Diego for a Friend’s Gift Exchange on New Years Eve. There’s an assortment of additional pictures on the forum (you have to be registered to see them).
Then Paul, Amiee and myself went to New Orleans this year and had a really good time. Again there’s some additional ones on the forum (once again, you need to be registered to see them). On top of being such a great time in New Orleans, I also got to meet Jules (click the link – have to be registered to see them).
So it’s been pretty fun. Pretty busy. Life’s been chaotic all around me. But hey. Shiest happens.

Wll there’s no way I am going to be able to make a journal entry as long as my “It’s Been Awhile…” entry. Don’t actually have much to say – but I figured I’d scribble down some thoughts and put this thing to use. (I don’t lead an exciting life, trust me!) Amiee and I did “get away” to Coronado this weekend for a mini-escape (as in Friday/Saturday). Of course, I showed up a bit late, because I was at “Happy Hour” with some people at work boozing it up. (Great, aren’t I? *shakes head*). On Saturday we pretty much relaxed at the pool (and tried at the Jacuzzi – except for the creepy guy just sitting there right by it… not sure what he was doing… except waiting for women to come to the Jacuzzi… something about women in bubbly water vs being in a pool I suppose?) Anyway – then we drove around Coronado and got food at The Burger Lounge for lunch then went to the Coronado Brewing Company for dinner. Very cool employees (our waiter was hilarious actually) – but I was kind of disappointed. Their red beer (Mermaid Red – perfect name, with a redheaded mermaid as their logo) – wasn’t smooth. I was expecting a Killian’s Red, Flat Tire, New Castle type – and it wasn’t. It was almost like a PALE ALE because it had an unusual amount of bite back to it. The food was okay, but nothing over the top. Still, it was nice to get away (and I got one of their mugs to take home, because I love the logo). Also enjoyed that on our mini-escape included the fine company of Ashlann and Tink! Well they weren’t really here but had the second best thing – them on Skype!
All right, that’s enough for now. I see you yawning. Yes, you. No, not you in the blue. Behind you. Yes, you there. In the white shirt.

We be needin’ your help mateys! We need to get the word about PirateBooty.net out a bit more! If ye could do me a favor and repost this blog in your own ship logs – or even a link to it – it’d be much appreciated! We’re goin’ to be branchin’ out soon into shirts that are not Pirate Related – but still have the same twisted sense of humor of the PirateBooty Store! Those shirts should be landin’ in me store soon enough! In the meantime, let me remind ye of some of the things we have!
Here’s some things you can find in our store currently! (And this by no means is all of them!)
For the Ladies:
FRONT:
BACK:

Some of the ladies complained that they didn’t want a HUGE pirate skull on their chest (though most didn’t mind it if there was a pirate on their chest… if you know what I mean). At any rate, we listened and developed new shirts for the ladies that bare a smaller logo… Here’s some examples:

FOR THE MEN:

And these are by no means all of the shirts available! There’s plenty more! There’s some for men, women, pregnant women, and whatever else you can put a shirt on! So come by the PirateBooty.net Store and pick something out for yourself or a fellow pirate lover!

… Since I updated.
But that’s because I have kept myself insanely busy!
So let’s journey back to probably the highlight of my year… or many years… this had to be the best thing ever.
A few Saturdays ago (seems like yesterday and yet forever) – Aim said that Poppy had bailed on her for breakast and that she had something at the GAP to pick up in downtown (so we were gonna eat at her place called The Mission in downtown). She had me easily convinced this is what was happening. Well when we got to the GAP, Tink (Miranada) and Ashlan (Alex) walked out of the GAP and floored me. I had no friggin’ clue they had flown out. They planned the whole thing with Amiee. So I had been with them all weekend. And for the following week after that! I never wanted them to leave!
Well (to give a little back story) – I originally met Tink (Miranda) on the RedvsBlue website when I first joined. (And to calaculate that – it was back in late 2003, because Adam and I started NeN shortly after seeing RvB). The RvB site sort of worked where you could put various interests (TV Shows, Video Games, etc) then click it on your profile and see who else has those interests – and we (Tink and I) bumped into other because we both had King’s Quest down as an interest. (Which is super rare – and even more so on the RvB site since they’re all younger kids who probably never heard of King’s Quest). So she and I started talking on there.
Shortly after, I met her boyfriend on there (who she had finally talked to coming onto the site). And Alex and I hit off from the start. He’s got that same whacky sense of humor (but he’s very good looking and has a very cool Aussie accent – two things I lack – good looks and a bad arse Aussie accent). It’s been pure magic since then.
Here’s pictures of us in San Diego & Lego Land…

I want them to come back and stay.
But that’s a story for another time. I made this by combining a few pictures together and throwing the song on there…
NOTE: It wasn’t really Tink’s birthday. There’s a thing we do that when someone stands to go to the bathroom we tell the waiter it’s that person’s birthday. They got me when we went to Ruby’s (there’s pictures somewhere of it). Then we got Jack at one of the Cheese Cake Factory stops. Then we nailed Miranda at the final Cheese Cake Factory stop.
Then Poppy had her own Surprise Birthday Party…
Shinpaul and I are in some of these…

And then in an never ending attempt to increase my ability to edit movies and such – I threw this together. I filmed it from three or four angles (recording at different times) – and then cut them together. The point was to get the lip synching right – despite being from different shots. I think it came out pretty well. I went all out silly for it (might as well have fun when you do this kind of stuff).
Then on the more depressing side – My 500GB External Hard Drive crashed. It had everything on it – from all my pictures, music, Neverending Nights, Writing – you name it – it was on this thing. And for days I thought all was lost – I had been randomly downloading recovery programs and none could find anything – until I came across BadCopy Pro! Well, you can read about it and my review on the Sierra Help Pages here.
Which segways into the next thing – The Sierra Help Pages which had previously been hosted on Tawmis.com moved to their own domain after Sierra/Vivendi/Activision/Whoever made the announcement – and we (well Collector did – then I came on as Co-Admin) launched the Sierra Help Page Forums which I think have been a HUGE success!
Other than that – just doing things here and there in life and keeping busy. I am hoping to be able to update this on a regular basis again.
