During that time \u2013 especially among the Chromatic Dragons (Red, Green, Black, White and Blue) with their evil intent, used their human forms to manipulate mankind into acts of great evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And so, during that time, someone in Diipllodocus\u2019 bloodline had mated with a Red Dragon in their human form, ensuring that some time down their bloodline, a human may mysteriously born as a Dragonborn; possessing a human body, but features that resembled their Dragon ancestry, such as reptilian features, and scales that matched the color of their ancestry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Diipllodocus was born, his parents seeing his red scales, knew it revealed a dreaded secret of their family\u2019s ancient folly into darkness. Diipllodocus was left at an orphanage where the human who took him in, named him \u201cDiipllodocus\u201d named after the fabled dinosaurs that were said to have once roamed Kne\u2019Urth before the arrival of the Gods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The man had tried to raise Diipllodocus right, to show him he was not bound by bloodline that flowed through his veins; that it did not need to be what had defined him. However, Diipllodocus could not help stealing and hoarding things, which his caretaker assumed was a part of his Draconic ancestry, in which Dragons hoard their treasure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When news about this \u201cIvory Coast\u201d spread around the continent and new artifacts were surfacing, Diipllodocus could not fight the urge to go. He booked passage aboard \u201cThe Evenstar\u201d and to his surprise, he saw that an infamous rogue had also booked a passage; similar to Diipllodocus, this rogue, known as Trinket, was relatively unknown as a race among the people of Kne\u2019Urth \u2013 she was a Harengon, one of the rare rabbit-folk, but her rogue abilities were known quite well throughout the Thieves Guild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aboard the ship he was approached by another Dragonborn named Yzma, who appeared to come from the Gold Dragon ancestry. The two bonded briefly while on the ship, until they saw another ship out in the sea attacked by a Kraken. They\u2019d remained on the ship, and much to his surprise, Trinket and others offered to be a part of a search and rescue party for survivors of the other ship. Diipllodocus nearly stepped up \u2013 but held off. What good would it do to potentially die on some damn island before reaching the Ivory Coast? It was several days before Trinket and her companions had successfully returned \u2013 and had he seen that right? A Silver Dragon? With an Egg, flying off? Indeed, there was something to the \u201clucky rabbit\u2019s foot.\u201d He\u2019d need to keep a closer eye on her, it would seem. Her reputation seemed to be more truth than rumor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thankfully, though Dragonborn are extremely rare \u2013 it would seem the prospect of a new continent has brought out many of these rare races \u2013 not only had Trinket, a Harengton been on the ship; but also another Dragonborn, a Bugbear, a Tabaxi, Tieflings and Aasimar, and an Aaraocraka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Ivory Coast, the dock town of Vareen, you\u2019d lost sight of Trinket and her companions, but ran into the Aaracocraka that knew her \u2013 one named Silas. He had mentioned that he was looking for his companions, and you took that opportunity to partner with him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diipllodocus&nbsp;found Silas in the Ivory Coast and spoke with him about the companions Silas had traveled with &#8211; specifically Trinket. (<em>See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-03\">Session 03<\/a> for more details)<\/em> Silas mentioned that he was looking to find his companions again as well &#8211; and decided that he and Diipllodocus&nbsp;would see if they could track down where the company had gone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following clues that the company had visited the Priest&#8217;s Temple, they learned that the company had chased one of the Clerics of Florasena&nbsp;when the Cleric, named Annabell, had gouged out her own eyes after reading a tome, while researching a way to break a curse on Azula (due to the long dead king, <strong>King Lux Cecidit<\/strong>. The duo followed the trail &#8211; easy enough, with the blood from her bleeding eyes, still on the ground. This led them to the cursed forest just outside of the Ivory Coast, known as the Jade Forest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Curious about the history of the Jade Forest &#8211; I got you covered! Check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/the-legend-of-the-ivory-coast\/religion-history\/deities-demigods\/the-spear-tree-splinter-tree\">The Spear\/Arrow Tree Legend<\/a>, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/completed-games\/adventure-notes-the-arrival\/adventure-notes-the-arrival-01-10\/the-arrival-adventure-notes-02\">cleric is given a holy vision about the Jade Forest<\/a>, tested by the gods, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/completed-games\/adventure-notes-the-arrival\/adventure-notes-the-arrival-01-10\/the-arrival-adventure-notes-04\">party decides to hunt down brigands rather than obey the urgent summons of the vision to save a Dryad who guards the Jade Forest<\/a>, this result on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/completed-games\/adventure-notes-the-arrival\/adventure-notes-the-arrival-01-10\/the-arrival-adventure-notes-05\">Dryad being slain by cultists and a fallen angel released into the world<\/a>, this results in a Green Hag, drawn by the tragedy to take up residence and corrupt the woods further &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/adventure-notes-the-adventurers\/adventure-notes-the-adventurers-01-10\/adventure-notes-the-adventurers-07\">she tricks another party into slaughtering centaurs in the woods that are trying to kill her, spilling yet more blood in these woods<\/a>, though when the party learns of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/adventure-notes-the-adventurers\/adventure-notes-the-adventurers-01-10\/adventure-notes-the-adventurers-08\">deception they do kill the hag<\/a>, but it would not end there, for the Green Hag was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-discovery\/the-discovery-1-10\/adventure-notes-the-discovery-10\">in a Coven, and her sisters were looking for revenge<\/a>, and yet another party would go on to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-discovery\/the-discovery-11-20\/adventure-notes-the-discovery-12\">fight the spirit of the slain Green Hag in the Jade Forest<\/a>, and finally, the same party that had been tricked by the Green Hag had the chance to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/adventure-notes-the-adventurers\/adventure-notes-the-adventurers-61-70\/adventure-notes-the-adventurers-62\">go back in time and perhaps undo the murder of the Dryad<\/a> &#8211; but then wondered &#8211; what if they did? How would it change time and impact the world? They made the hard choice of letting time flow as it has originally done, baring witness to the horrible death of the Dryad and the murder of the sacred Unicorn, and the rise of the Fallen Angel&#8230;)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/636595819947449671.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"813\" height=\"1000\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/636595819947449671.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11937\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.8165803991735361;width:312px;height:auto\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/636595819947449671.png 813w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/636595819947449671-244x300.png 244w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/636595819947449671-768x945.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 813px) 100vw, 813px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the edge of the Jade Forest, the duo encountered someone that Silas was already familiar with &#8211; Burlap, the Berbalang. Recognizing Silas, Burlap hissed, &#8220;Looking for your bitch Cat-Friend and the Long-Earred Rabbit deceiver?&#8221; <em>(Burlap has good reason, in his mind, to dislike Azula and Trinket &#8211; see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-03\">Session 03<\/a> and how they treated him for more)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diipllodocus&nbsp;looked to Silas, &#8220;You know that thing?&#8221; Silas merely nodded and turned to Burlap. &#8220;Yes, we are looking for my friends.&#8221; Burlap sneered, &#8220;You call them friends? Deceptive they are. Breaker of oaths and truths. Beware, their dagger has cut my wings, they may soon cut yours too, Bird-Man. But fine, since maybe <em>this time<\/em> they will keep their vow to help Burlap be free of his old master, they could maybe use your help. I agree to at least show you where they have gone, though I shall not go beyond.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-11.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"669\" height=\"446\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-11.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11941\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.4826732673267327;width:429px;height:auto\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-11.png 669w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-11-300x200.png 300w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-11-450x300.png 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Burlap takes them deep into the Jade Forest, until they finally reach a mountain &#8211; and there, through the trees, like the maw of a giant beast, a cave mouth lay open, hungry to devour the foolish who dare enter her shadows. &#8220;They went in two days ago. Your cat friend is running out of time&#8230; she should have been back in a day, for the best chance at removing this curse from her&#8230; the long she houses the spirit, the longer it shall corrupt and place hooks in her&#8230;&#8221; Silas had no idea what Burlap had meant about a curse &#8211; he had not bothered to ask. Instead, he and Diipllodocus&nbsp;traveled inside the cave. Almost immediately, they spot Stirges &#8211; creatures that resemble a horrible pairing of vampire bats and giant mosquitos pairing together, moving slowly along the roof of the cave. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638063924522595508.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"723\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638063924522595508.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11942\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.370856427677454;width:353px;height:auto\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638063924522595508.png 1000w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638063924522595508-300x217.png 300w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638063924522595508-768x555.png 768w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638063924522595508-415x300.png 415w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having encountered Stirges before (<em>See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-03\">Session 03<\/a> for more)<\/em>, Silas recalled the warning Aram had spoken of when dealing with Stirges <em>(Aram and several others were not quiet enough to avoid the Stirges and had a very bad experience in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-02\">Session 02<\/a>)<\/em> They had moved quietly, avoiding alerting the Stirges to their presence when they reached a rope bridge that had been severed. A small, fifteen foot stream flowed here. Nervous, Silas offered to carry Diipllodocus&nbsp;over the stream, but had failed to do so, dropping Diipllodocus&nbsp;into the stream which was full of Quipper fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/piranha-river-piranha.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"638\" height=\"488\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/piranha-river-piranha.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11943\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In seconds, Quipper fish, drawn to the splash had attacked Diipllodocus&#8217; legs, and by the time he&#8217;d crawled out of the stream, he had lost a great amount of blood (<em>becoming, literally bloody &#8211; as in half his health consumed by the Quipper fish frenzy!)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now the duo was in some trouble; neither of them had the ability to heal wounds, nor had any of them considered shopping for healing potions while they were at the Ivory Coast &#8211; and neither knew what horrors lurked in this cave that would keep the likes of Burlap out of the cave. Moving forward, they eventually reached a sheer cliff of sixty feet &#8211; on one side, tattered rope led down, another, what appeared to be a mine cart, used for going up and down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"532\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-12-1024x532.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11944\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-12-1024x532.png 1024w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-12-300x156.png 300w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-12-768x399.png 768w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-12-1536x798.png 1536w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-12-500x260.png 500w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-12.png 1942w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Check out my incredible MS PAINT skills! Wild, right?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diipllodocus looked at the rope, and still bloody, felt that the elevator was the better route down. As he climbed in and churned the gears, the elevator roared and echoed with each drop down five feet it made until voices could be heard &#8211; Silas quickly flew into the elevator with Diipllodocus and  the two hid behind the metal compartment of the elevator and remained hidden. Peering over they saw dwarves, like they&#8217;d never seen before. They heard one of the dwarves calling out to go fetch one of the other dwarves, that it appeared the gears were loose on the elevator and it was slowly sliding down and would need to be repaired again. Disappointed that it wasn&#8217;t more slaves, the dwarves returned to their duty. Using the rope, Silas fetched from the ledge, Diipllodocus climbed down and spotted a vented shaft that had been bolted down. I swear I only use it for D&amp;D illustrations in notes because it&#8217;s such a small audience! \ud83d\ude00<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moving quietly through the sewer system, they saw one of the very dwarves &#8211; or one that looked like one of the dwarves (not to say all dwarves look the same mind you, though there are stories that both women and men support full beards, but that&#8217;s neither here nor there, the point being Diipllodocus and Silas saw the corpse of a dwarf floating down the sewer system&#8230; clearly someone had killed him and there might be a good chance it was the very people they were looking for&#8230; (<em>This Duergar was one of the slain, mentioned at the end of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-06\">Session 06<\/a> when they were in the sewer system)<\/em>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They eventually reached, yet another ledge&#8230; to the right, there seemed to be an auditorium, as if to watch what was going on in the pit&#8230; inside the pit, a dead basilisk whose eye had been gouged out&#8230; and some rope&#8230; and blood at the bottom of the pit near where they were standing as if someone had fallen&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11896\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-1024x576.png 1024w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-300x169.png 300w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-768x432.png 768w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-1536x864.png 1536w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-500x281.png 500w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Basilisk was slain in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-06\">Session 06<\/a>, while the blood at the bottom of the pit was when Yzma had fallen in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-07\">Session 07<\/a>&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Silas was able to fly the rope to the other side and tie it, however, Diipllodocus realized that would be a feat of strength and relied instead on his dexterity to successfully move along the left of the ledge and cross into the room. On the other side, they found an armory of dwarven weapons and armor and a hall that split to the left and right. They ventured right first, then backtracked and found tracks that appeared to be their comrades going left &#8211; this led to a room that ended in a massive pit of darkness and unnatural cold. It&#8217;d taken some time, by Silas eventually flew down and was greeted by the same banshee of the Elven woman who pleaded for their help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1004\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11909\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-5.png 1024w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-5-300x294.png 300w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-5-768x753.png 768w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-5-306x300.png 306w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The female spirit explains, &#8220;My name is <strong>Esinda Silvermane<\/strong>, please find the necklace of my husband, <strong>Edonaris Silvermane<\/strong>, it bares the symbol of two stars and two blades touching each other. We were captured in these mines. Bring it to me and I can help you.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Silas realizes the unnatural cold to this pit is coming from the essence of the banshee, whose spirit is trapped here. Diipllodocus scales down the rope and together, he and Silas find a cavern in the pit. As they exit, they see a cave that appears to be a wizard&#8217;s study &#8211; but also hear the sounds of combat &#8211; arriving just as Silas&#8217; friends have slain a pack of gnolls. <em>(And now we have caught up to the end of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-07\">Session 07<\/a>).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company checks on the gnome whom the gnolls had been beating on and discover he&#8217;s barely alive, so Bronk uses his <em>Lay on Hands<\/em> to restore health to the gnome. The gnome, who is named <strong>Bizen<\/strong>, is thankful to be alive. Aram in the meantime approached the flesh golem that had the magical sword protruding from its chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638062024854370869.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"611\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638062024854370869-611x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11972\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638062024854370869-611x1024.png 611w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638062024854370869-179x300.png 179w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638062024854370869.png 616w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As he drew the blade from the flesh golem&#8217;s chest, he noticed Elven Runes on the blade, and was able to translate some of it &#8211; which had meant <em>Giant Slayer<\/em> &#8211; however, some of the Elvish Runes were from a dialect of Elvish that was ancient and unknown to him. He would need someone to translate this and find the true purpose of the blade. As he looked at the skeletal remains next to the flesh golem, he realized that it was an elf &#8211; the owner of this blade, and he realized it was the elf he&#8217;d had a vision about (<em>see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-07\">Session 07<\/a> when Aram regains consciousness in the Pit of Despair)<\/em> &#8211; and that this blade had once belonged to the husband of the banshee spirit in the Pit of Despair &#8211; this sword belonged to <strong>Edonaris Silvermane<\/strong> &#8211; that would undoubtedly provide a pivotal clue as to the blade&#8217;s origin and enchantment. Aram searched the corpse, and as the banshee, <strong>Esinda Silvermane<\/strong>, had said, the necklace was missing &#8211; there was still a bugbear down here, if the Banshee was correct &#8211; that had that necklace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company decided to rest here for the night. When they awakened, both Yzma and Munk-Ku were gone. There was no trace of where either of them might have gone &#8211; whether they wandered off and would be back &#8211; or if they had used magic to escape. <em>(Note: This was because the player for Yzma wasn&#8217;t present and probably wouldn&#8217;t be any time soon as she was just in town visiting &#8211; so had her &#8220;magic&#8221; herself away to be perhaps encountered later, if the player ever rejoins for another session!)<\/em> With no other choice, after calling out for Yzma, the party decided to push on. The gnome asked what they were doing in these caves and if they were escaped slaves as well. They explained that they were searching for Myconoids, because they needed spores from the Myconoids. The gnome explained he knew exactly where to lead the party &#8211; but he wouldn&#8217;t go into the Myconoid forest because he&#8217;d had a bad experience there &#8211; and when they asked, he explained much of the flora there releases pollens that can cause unwanted\/undesirable effects. As they row on the raft and get half way, the raft is gently bumped by something underwater. Bizen whispers, &#8220;Row faster&#8230;&#8221; After some effort, the trio get about half way &#8211; when, what looks to be a large stalactite drop from the ceiling and strike Bronk and Zorin. Flint looking sees something that looks like a stone squid on Bronk!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638061928264742735.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"676\" height=\"1000\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638061928264742735.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11962\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.6811656005685857;width:317px;height:auto\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638061928264742735.png 676w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/638061928264742735-203x300.png 203w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flint tries to draw his sword and swing, while standing on the small raft, but it is difficult to keep his balance. As he lunges to boat begins to jolt from left to right in an unsteady motion. Bizen shouts, &#8220;Careful damn it! There&#8217;s still that beast in the water that keeps bumping the damn raft! If we capsize we&#8217;re going to be in worse trouble than your friend is.&#8221; Bronk continues to struggle to try to break free of the creature&#8217;s grasp, but its stone-like hide and tentacles prove to be incredibly strong. Flint, realizing thrusting at the creature is causing the ship to churn and spin wildly, sheaths his weapon and instead tries to grasp the creature by the tentacles, however, as the boat continues to sway, he loses his footing and plumets into the cold, dark lake. <em>Note: Bronk was attacked by a Darkmantle in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-04\">Session 04<\/a>, while in the tomb of the cursed king.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trinket takes aim at the darkmantle &#8211; and due to the shifting tides that the raft is struggling upon &#8211; Flint, as he&#8217;s trying to climb aboard is struck by Trinket&#8217;s arrow! (<em>Note &#8211; Trinket rolled a double Critical Fail)<\/em> Aelith seeing the chaos unfolding leapt into the water and began dashing towards the raft. Silas and Niele take to the air and begin flying towards the raft as well. Silas is able to get close enough to throw one of his darts that strikes the Darkmantle. <em>(Fun Note: I gave the Darkmantle the Damage Transfer ability &#8211; similar to Rug of Smothering &#8211; in which any damage it takes, half goes to the victim. I did this because of the size of the party)<\/em> Azula tells her faerie dragon she rescued to follow Silas and Niele, and breathe on the stone squid creature (<em>See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tawmis.com\/kneurth\/adventure-notes\/the-stranded\/the-stranded-session-06\">Session 06<\/a>)<\/em>. Trinket makes a redemptive strike and manages to land a killing blow with her long bow on the Dark Mantle. Only dinosaurs existed. A god that ruled Kne&#8217;Urth long before the Gods of Light and Shadow came, had created these dinosaurs and these were his children &#8211; that god was named Terrorskew. When the Gods of Light and Shadow came they liked what they saw of Kne&#8217;Urth, saw prospects, and were said to have wiped out the dinosaurs to a near extinction level, to reset the world, so that the Gods of Light and Shadow could place their people upon the world. The story goes that the Gods of Light were unaware that Terrorskew, as a God had ruled, this world &#8211; and would not have reset the world had they known &#8211; but the damage was already done and Terrorskew swore vengeance one day &#8211; when the Gods of Light and Shadow were most proud of their creatures &#8211; Terrorskew would return and decimate their people as the gods had done to his dinosaur-kin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are stories and rumors of these ancient dinosaurs still to exist; some claiming to see them, though no proof is ever obtained &#8211; there&#8217;s even a legend of an entire island that moves that is solely populated by dinosaurs, said to have been created by Terrorskew, in his effort to preserve his creations when the Gods of Light and Shadow came.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And now, Aelith found herself face to face with one of these dinosaurs. Using her aquatic abilities, she communicated with the beast &#8211; and earned its trust, so much so that it pulled the raft to the other side of the shore, before descending into the depts of the underground lake, disappearing in the deep, lightless, lake. <em>(Aelith had rolled a Natural 20 on her Animal Handling skill!)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aelith remains in the water to help push the boat, while Silas remains in the air to help pull the boat. Niele flies to the other side and remains with Bronk and Flint. Next to make it across are Trinket and Bronk (who returned to help row the boat back across). This leaves Azula, Aram, and Diipllodocus&nbsp;on the other side, so Silas pulls the boat so that all three of them can get on it and he flies back. As Aram, Azula and Diipllodocus&nbsp;begin to board the raft, three human escaped slaves round the corner, screaming, &#8220;The dwarves are coming! The slaves, sensing the motive of the heroes, unanimously and silent all move to lunge onto the boat, pulling the others off to try and get on the raft. Aram and Azula seem to debate &#8211; whether they should kill the frantic slaves or subdue them &#8211; however, if they subdue them the dwarven slavers would only enslave them &#8211; which was better? A quick, merciful death, or a life, returned as a slave? In the end, the trio decide to do non-lethal damage and leave the unconscious slaves on the shore. As they push off, the slavers round the corner and fire their crossbows, sending a several bolts into the air at them. Thankfully the crossbows are slow to load and the trio is able to reach the other side of the shore with minimal damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once everyone is on the other side, Bizen goes on to explain that the dwarves down here are mining for adamantine and they&#8217;re using it to create an effigy to their dark god &#8211; who looks like a dwarf with eight, spider-like eyes. He&#8217;s never seen such a thing &#8211; it&#8217;s like the dwarves are consumed by some form of madness. Bizen eventually leads the company of would be heroes to the Myconoid Forest and explains he can go no further. He&#8217;d gone in there once, and due to the unusual flora there, had a very bad experience. He warns to be very wary of touching any of the flora in there&#8230; and with that, he departs, making his way down another side cave&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trinket decides she will go in first. She moves through the astounding colors and shapes of the flora, heeding Bizen&#8217;s warning to not touch anything. She finds a small animal path and tries to use that to follow &#8211; eventually coming to a small stream which she leaps across &#8211; however, upon landing on the other side brushes against some of the flora and succumbs to the spores that are emitted, and she begins to sing wildly. Silas hears this and flies into the area, but the towering mushrooms make like interconnected roof tops making it impossible to see Trinket &#8211; not so difficult to <em>hear<\/em> Trinket. He manages to successfully get down there and tries to see what&#8217;s going on. The Myconoids explain that the Ogres feed on them. The party sighs and agrees to put an end to the Ogres. They are led by the chief&#8217;s son, a young Myconoid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/myconoid.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"731\" height=\"1000\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/myconoid.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11976\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/myconoid.png 731w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/myconoid-219x300.png 219w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 731px) 100vw, 731px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the Myconoid Chief&#8217;s son leads the party towards the Ogres, he explains that they must be wary of the water &#8211; that something dwells in the water that the Ogres can command. The Myconoids had once tried to attack the Ogres by approaching their island, only to have the lake itself turn against the Myconoids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The party arrives, coming out of a cave, where there&#8217;s a twenty foot ledge down, then sixty feet to water, then another sixty feet of water, and there in the large lake, an island hardly big enough to hold ten ogres &#8211; but four ogres call it home &#8211; and the island is full of weapons and nets, used for fishing, hunting, and killing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-18.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"532\" src=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-18-1024x532.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11977\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-18-1024x532.png 1024w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-18-300x156.png 300w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-18-768x399.png 768w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-18-1536x798.png 1536w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-18-500x260.png 500w, http:\/\/tawmis.com\/kneurth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-18.png 1942w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Eat your heart out! Me and my MSPAINT skills again!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The battle that follows is bloody and brutal&#8230; Silas was nearly killed&#8230; everyone was wounded&#8230; Azula even made the swim towards the Ogre Island and fell during the battle&#8230; but when one of the Ogres standing near her became bloody&#8230; similar to what had happened before in the Pit of Despair&#8230; the cursed King spirit syphoned some of the Ogre&#8217;s blood into her mouth and awakened her&#8230; granting her the sheer strength of the Ogres temporarily&#8230; when the battle was over, and the blood fusion was expended&#8230; Azula was exhausted&#8230; the battle won&#8230; and Silas defeated the leader who wore the necklace said to command the water&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Fun Note: I don&#8217;t know if Diipllodocus\u00a0will be joining us in the next session&#8230; or Silas for that matter&#8230; for which, what I plan to do is have Diipllodocus steal the necklace, and when Silas realizes it, gives chase&#8230; which makes it an easy way to explain why neither of them might be there&#8230; but if one or both are there&#8230; even better.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One again, we rewind the clock as we have another special guest&#8230; Thouands of years ago, Dragon Kind walked among mortals, taking mortal form to manipulate mankind.
