Learning the trade of his father, even at a young age, Bodrag aspired to be the next in line to forge weapons for the dwarven king (King Forgefire). Despite rising tensions between several of the races, King Forgefire found King Saric to be an honorable human.

King Forgefire had traded a large amount of weapons and armor, made specifically to fit King Saric’s men; in exchange for leathers, fish, and lumber. The “great treasure” that King Saric was rumored to have, was the magnificent armor and weapons forged by the Stormforge Clan, per King Forgefire’s command.

When news reached King Forgefire about the fall of King Saric’s castle; he turned to the Stormforge Clan to forge more weapons to equip the remainder of King Saric’s men (which were all too few) so that he might one day reclaim his rightful castle.

When the weapons were forged, Kruthal – Bodrag’s father, appointed Bodrag to be the one to deliver the weapons. Knowing that Bodrag was a strong, sturdy dwarf, and one that Kruthal knew would protect the weapons and armor with his life – because honor demanded it – was not only the best choice, but truly, the only choice, for the sake of the Stormforge Clan’s honor.

The armor and weapons were loaded into a cart, pulled by a donkey, and Bodrag brought his faithful guard dog, a gift from King Saric not so long ago, since Dwarves had no dogs within the mountains. Together, with his dog, Bodrag began his journey towards Guardstone, a small city outside of King Saric’s castle.

As his cart pulled along the beaten path, he saw what appeared to be a young wizard on the side of the road. Pulling the wagon up next to the young wizard, he was alarmed to see that it was a gnome (since gnomes rarely venture outside of their home). While dwarves and gnomes don’t always get along (because of the despite of whether or not gnomes are truly related to dwarves), a gnome who practiced magic was almost enough for Bodrag to simply tilt his hat and keep going. But in speaking with the gnome mage, Bodrag discovered that the gnome was also headed to Guardstone; having heard news that an expedition was going forth to look into the rise of several “dark temples” with “dark magic.” The gnome was not interested in the dark magic; but more so how it had come to the surface after so many years; and what secrets might be there (and potentially fall into the wrong hands). The gnome introduced himself as Teendargo Steamspinner; and together they journeyed to Guardstone.

Want to help? Consider becoming a Patreon.
