Despite the protests of his parents, Alaric Lysane joined\nthe militia at the age of 16. Recruited into the Guardstone Militia, Alaric was\nassigned to tracking down, hunting, and killing the fractured Orcish members of\nThe Broken Hand.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though The Broken Hand<\/em>\nhad suffered terrible losses during their battle against the Ashen Elf, pockets\nof the organization had continued to operate throughout the land, continuing\ntheir violent behavior. During his time hunting down, integrating, and\ncapturing members of The Broken Hand<\/em>,\nAlaric Lysane became fluent in speaking the Orcish tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The more Alaric Lysane saw of the brutality the Orcs\ninflicted upon the world, the deeper his hatred for the Orcs and their ilk ran.\nHe made it a personal mission to fight for those that could not fight for\nthemselves, and if need be, he would sacrifice himself if it ever came to it,\nto help those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His determination was eventually noticed by his superiors,\nand he was recommended to become a part of the King\u2019s Squadron. As a part of\nthe King\u2019s Squadron, Alaric Lysane was sent out to settle disputes that arose\nand to help defend towns that frequently found themselves attacked by brigands\nand the like. Recognition came again, and Alaric Lysane was recruited into the\nKing\u2019s Own \u2013 where he became an officer commanding his own crew \u2013 all assigned\nto personally guard and keep the King safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1,176 \u2013 when news about a new continent being found\nacross the vast ocean, and west of Guardstone, Alaric Lysane was immediately\ninterested. Explaining to the King that he was still young, and wanted to see\nwhat \u201clay beyond\u201d \u2013 the King freed him from service of the King\u2019s Own, and\nAlaric Lysane sailed west aboard The\nThunder Wave.<\/em> When he arrived in the Ivory Coast, he quickly made himself\nknown as a trusted warrior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Spire\u2019s Edge was attacked by a blue dragon, and bands\nof kobolds, Alaric Lysane immediately rode there as quickly as he could, with\nno regard to his own life. He arrived as the siege was still taking place, and\nfought off what felt like hundreds of Kobolds, and was in awe of the sight of\nthe blue dragon, who brought terror and destruction to Spire\u2019s Edge \u2013 and for\nthe first time, truly felt that perhaps he would not live to see the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dragon, however, did not seem interested in killing\npeople; it used its lightning breath instead to destroy homes and burn things.\nAfter what felt like the longest night of his life, the kobolds and the dragon\nretreated into the morning sunrise, leaving behind rubble and smoke. The\ncasualties were surprisingly low for the residents of Spire\u2019s Edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaric Lysane remained in Spire\u2019s Edge, adopting his old\nduty of protecting the town from constant siege by opportunist enemies; the\nmost common being the gnolls, who sought to kill and murder anyone they could. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the defenses more secure, when a caravan headed for the\nBroken Lands arrived at Spire\u2019s Edge, Alaric Lysane offered his services to\nhelp guard the caravan through the mountains. He had heard about the Broken\nLands, and the wild magic and things that were coming from that area, and\nwanted to see where his next adventure would take him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
