{"id":166,"date":"2018-06-06T04:29:15","date_gmt":"2018-06-06T04:29:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/starwars\/?page_id=166"},"modified":"2018-06-06T14:44:36","modified_gmt":"2018-06-06T14:44:36","slug":"easter-eggs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/tawmis.com\/starwars\/easter-eggs\/","title":{"rendered":"| Easter Eggs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fun Notes About STAR WARS: THE SMUGGLER\u2019S RUN Radio Play.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Varen Tyrell<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Varen is a character name I have frequently used in Star Wars related games<\/li>\n<li>His last name is a reference to my father<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Shankha \u201cShank\u201d Blackwood<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first name is a reference to a shell Maico got while traveling in India for work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The First Episode title \u201cThe X-Treme Gambit\u201d is a reference to two Marvel Comics characters:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adam-X (also known as X-Treme)<\/li>\n<li>Remy LeBeau (of the X-Men, known as Gambit)<\/li>\n<li>These characters are favorites of Tawmis &amp; Maico respectively<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>I knew I wanted to have an R5 unit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maico\u2019s birthday is May 5<sup>th<\/sup> (5\/5), so it became R5-D5.<\/li>\n<li>R5\u2019s colors are mentioned as blue and gold; which is a reference to the San Diego Chargers (Football) team which is Maico\u2019s favorite football team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Stormtroopers voice by Tawmis &amp; Maico<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a Stormtrooper with the name of TL7-70 (TL = Tawmis Logue, and the number is the birthday)<\/li>\n<li>Similar for MM-55 (Maico Moreno, and birthday)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Commander Tranis Cole<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>He is a reference to the leader of one of my favorite fantasy books that Nick is also a fan of (who voices him) \u2013 Tranis is a reference to Tanis. And the last name of Cole comes from one of my favorite XBOX games, Gears of War, and a reference to the often over the top Augustus Cole. (Not to say that I think Nick is super animated or over the top or anything\u2026)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Protocol Droid PC-05<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is voiced by Paul Crowder, and his favorite number is 5. So, PC-05.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Adora, the Twi\u2019lek:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Twi\u2019leks are often very sexualized. So when I was thinking of a name of a beautiful alien, I couldn\u2019t help but think of the <em>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> movie and Gamora. So I wanted something that sounded similar and came up with Adora.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tariody\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Her name is based off the combination of Colleen (who voices the character) two children: <em>Tari<\/em>n and Mel<em>ody<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Sun Charger Ship<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The name, like R5\u2019s name, is a reference to the San Diego Chargers. The \u201cSun\u201d is a reference to San Diego\u2019s \u201cnickname\u201d of \u201cSunny San Diego\u201d and the Chargers is once again, a reference to Maico\u2019s favorite football team, the San Diego Chargers.<\/li>\n<li>The model of the ship is MT-4190. MT stands for Maico Tawmis and the 4190 is a reference to my wedding anniversary (married to Amiee)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Wrangler<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This ship is intentionally named after a Jeep. It was originally named The Prophet (because Travis\u2019 religious beliefs).<\/li>\n<li>The Ship Model (JE-0516) spells out Jeep (as Travis is a big Jeep advocate). JE-and then the 5<sup>th<\/sup> letter in the alphabet is E, and the 16<sup>th<\/sup> letter in the alphabet is P).<\/li>\n<li>When I was discussing this with Maico, he said the ship should be renamed to Wrangler (a type of jeep) and also makes sense, since Bounty Hunters wrangle people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ortegganaught<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ortega is a Spanish sur name (being from Spain, I had to put a Spanish reference), I just threw in an extra \u201cg\u201d so it wasn\u2019t obvious.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cnaugght\u201d portion of the name was because I wanted to give it an exotic sound. I had a big planet envisioned in my head, and as an avid X-Men fan, thought of Juggernaught, so the whole planet name became Ortegganaught<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Korokone<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I knew this was going to be a planet for the Hutt I would have in the story<\/li>\n<li>I wanted something that sounded vile and dirty<\/li>\n<li>I made the name Korokone based off the word \u201ccocaine\u201d because I always envisioned Hutts and running illegal and illicit drugs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Moregil VII<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I was in need of another planet name (and as I have been ripping all my DVD\u2019s to digital), so I can box them away \u2013 on my desk was my wife\u2019s Gilmore Girls DVDs. The top one was Gilmore Girls Season 7. So I took Gilmore and split the word so it became Moregil and used the VII since it was the Season 7 discs on top.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Proctor The Bounty Hunter<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travis is a big fan of Bounty Hunters, especially Mandalorian Bounty Hunters (as far as having his own costume)<\/li>\n<li>So I knew I would put him in the show as a Bounty Hunter<\/li>\n<li>As I struggled to come up with a name, I saw some Bounty paper towels<\/li>\n<li>How fitting, since he was a Bounty Hunter, I looked up the company name (P&amp;G)<\/li>\n<li>And changed it from Procter to Proctor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Volarian Spice<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I have used the name \u201cVolarian Spice\u201d probably in <em>every<\/em> single Star Wars story I have ever written<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bristlethorn<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In most of my ElfQuest stories I have written, I usually have \u201cBristlethorns\u201d which are creatures that are essentially like a tick and mosquito having a baby; they\u2019re ticks (who are shaped like thorns, so swatting them off hurts), and the \u201cthorn\u201d portion turns red when it\u2019s filled with blood<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The title of Episode 3 \u201cThe Hand of the Empire\u201d is a reference to a Westwood Game from the Legends of Kyrania series called \u201cThe Hand of Fate\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Episode 04\u2019s title \u201cNo One Escapes The Empire Inquisition\u201d is a reference to Mel Brook\u2019s \u201cNo One Expects the Spanish Inquisition\u201d (once again, throwing in another Spanish related reference)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Episode 05 ties in to the Proctor name; in that it\u2019s called \u201cThe Last Gamble\u201d and it\u2019s the episode that introduces the Bounty Hunter (Proctor) \u2013 so it\u2019s Proctor &amp; Gamble<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Episode 06\u2019s title \u201cThe Tooka &amp; Wamp Rat Game\u201d is a reference to \u201cThe cat &amp; mouse game\u201d because Tooka\u2019s are like felines in Star Wars, and Wamp Rats are like\u2026 well, mouse\/rats.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Episode 07\u2019s title is clearly a reference to Adora being the cargo on the ship, and the \u201cForced\u201d is a reference to her revealing she\u2019s a Jedi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Episode 08 \u201cThe Blade of Destiny\u201d is a reference to the first Realms of Arkania games (one of my favorite Computer RPGs series \u2013 ever).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Episode 09 \u201cStar Trail\u201d is a reference to the second Realms of Arkania games (Star Trail is actually my favorite of the Realms of Arkania CRPG trilogy)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Episode 10 \u201cAssassin Nation Protocol\u201d is a reference to what Lizzy Borden (the heavy metal singer, not the accused murderer) has done with his albums (such as \u201cTerror Rising\u201d and \u201cVisual Lies\u201d where you take two words that can mean one; so for us it was \u201cAssassin Nation\u201d to \u201cAssassination\u201d)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fun Notes About STAR WARS: THE SMUGGLER\u2019S RUN Radio Play.
