Known Relatives: Unknown
Place of Birth: Believed to be from town surrounding Tower of Kir.
First Appearance: Adventurers Book II #1
History: No record can be found of Yerdik before 3580 when he suddenly appeared as an apprentice to Hravek, the Mad Necromancer of Kir. It is speculated that he was taken or bought from a peasant of the villages surrounding the Tower of Kir by this infamous wizard. The fact that the ritual scarring of his ears had occurred before he was known to the world supports this belief.
Like his master, Yerdik is a master of the necromantic arts. His delight in the horrible and the painful, plus a touch of madness are traits he shares with his mentor. He is set apart from Hravek by his desire for worldly power and perhaps his violent temper.
This lust for power has sent Yerdik wandering through Anoria. He is well known throughout the Seven Kingdoms and the Southlands as a daring but ruthless adventurer.
In his adventures, he claims to have found the wise woman of the Northern Ice. He has plundered the secret libraries of Carthia and made pacts with the Mist Beasts of the Tanlin Marsh. Yerdik has faced and defeated legendary figures as Maruvan of the White Hand, Nichodin, captain of the Red Falcon, and Dron, the mentor of Erikor. Such victories have earned him the respect and fear of his peers.
Yerdik’s quest for power has taken him to the court of Belgur where he has served for three years as advisor to the king. His skills in calling the dead have brought a great prize to his current lord – the location of the Grail of Darkness. As a reward for his invaluable information, Belgur has given Yerdik permission to travel to the Lost City and to take anything he finds from there – except the Grail.
