  • Inside the temple, the party ventured to the right, following Kobold tracks
  • This led to a room that had collapsed and had a pit with a board to cross over
    • Suspicious, the party took several minutes trying to figure out if it was trapped
  • Eventually Dick summoned an unseen servant, who fumbled while crossing the platform and had it collapse
  • Morsus was able to use a rope to grab the board and pull it back over
  • The party eventually crossed and pulled the board onto the side they were at so that no one else should be able to cross behind them
  • From there, they moved forward and found a door; peeking inside they were able to see what appeared to be an old man reading over some ancient tomes
  • The party kicked down the door, but failed to do so; alerting the old man behind the desk
  • Rex quickly imitated a servant, which successfully fooled the old man
  • The party then rushed into the door and attacked the old man, who then became very clear to be an undead of some kind (perhaps a Lich)
  • After a long fight, the party manages to defeat the undead creature and take rest in the room, surprised that no encounters happened
  • From there they explored another passage that led downward, and found a natural cavern. There were kobold tracks and tracks of webbed feet. The party moved the other way and found a room that had suffered some portions of a collapsed ceiling. There was a door here which they attempted to kick down and successfully did so and discovered it was a perched ledge over a room where several cultists were summoning the demon, apparently.
    • Light from above (from a hole in the ceiling) beams in five beams of light, that are then directed to a heartstone that the cultists are around chanting
    • The party determines that attacking from above might not be the best idea and decides to go and try to confront the cultists who are not aware of the party’s presence
  • The party checks the other door in this collapsed room and finds baboons that are feeding on the flesh of deceased crew members, and devouring blood and decide to leave them alone
  • The party goes back across the pit and then finds a room full of Kobolds. Rex takes a moment to speak to them and wows them and convinced them that they should all take down the cultists. The Kobolds agree and the party leads 30 kobolds to attack the cultists.
  • After a moment, they notice that the souls of the cultists are being pulled into the heartstone; so the party decides that’s the bigger threat and attempts to destroy it.
  • Morsus lands a crushing blow with his dwarven might; but the following hits from Dick and Adrian actually seem to fix it due to fumbled hits; but Apostrophe comes along and smashes it, and immediately the island begins to sink!
  • Water comes rushing in and the party decides that they will stay in the room because of the hole in the top of the ceiling.
  • Those in heavy armor are forced to remove their armor or drown.
  • The party latches onto several pieces of the shipwreck that had washed ashore and now pulled around the island and was adrift for three days before a passing ship found them and rescued them, headed to the Ivory Coast.
