Literally created from cave bears, by the deranged god, Sarenthar – Bugbears resemble their ancient relatives in many ways. Their bodies are covered in brown, matted fur; they’re incredibly strong, and stand very tall. They thrive on battle, and bully around smaller humanoid races. They despise being bossed around, even by someone clearly more powerful than them; and will immediately begin formulating ways to overthrow and kill anyone who tries to take command of them. Alliances with bugbears, by other evil, marauding races can be made; but generally do not last long, before the bugbear’s desire to raid, murder and kill, also includes their allies.

There are some Bugbears who have turned away from this lust to murder and kill and turned it towards becoming hired mercenary guards for caravans and finding that being paid for “honest” work has been nice; even if the general population often doesn’t trust Bugbears due to their centuries of established blood lust reputation.
