Jacqueline was a Necromancer, wanted through the lands for the acts of Necromancy she’d done – fleeing from the law that had been chasing her, she blindly ran into the woods for cover – and stumbled into an Orc encampment. Realizing she was still in great peril – she used her Necromancy to raise the dead – but rather than attack the Orcs, she explained that there were humans after her that sought to kill her and steal her power – if the Orcs aligned with her, she would share her power with them.

This intrigued Olith, who had considered himself “Chief” of this band – as he had once been Command of the Hobgoblin squad before the Broken Hand – the largest organization of Orcs was laid to waste after the great war of 1125. The Broken Hand had been shattered by the war and the infighting for who should be Grand Chief never ceases, until hundreds of orcs had killed one another in a thirst for power. Olith took those faithful to him and fled the fractured Broken Hand – he had told them that he hoped to find a way to raise their Grand Chief – but in truth, he’d hoped to capture and harness the power and wisdom of the Grand Chief’s soul. Seeing Jacqueline’s ability to raise the dead was exactly what Olith needed, and so he agreed to help her – and together they murdered or enslaved those who had been pursuing her.

Through mutual respect for one another, more so than love, a relationship that turned sexual many times, developed between Olith and Jacqueline, yielding several children.

Flighty, abrupt, and snappy with her elders, Avacyn in her teenage years was easily considered a delinquent and lost cause. As a child she killed two of her cousins and her own brother defending those trapped within slaver ring from being abused. This is what caused her to be taken to an Orc prison.

After a couple of years in an Orc prison far from her home, she continued on as a Half-orc with a chip on her shoulder, always striving to be better than her predecessors.

She had been blackmailed by her own parents into being silent about an Orc slaver ring her human mother Jacqueline had orchestrated in conjunction with her Orc father Olith.

After being released, she was free to do anything she desired. She vowed to herself that she would kill her parents if she were able to find them again and free those trapped in that slaver ring. She learned that her parents – and her father’s tribe – had booked passage in a ship headed for the new continent – new relics being found there piqued their interest and how it might be used to further their cause.

Avacyn learned how to be proficient in Cartography (the science/practice of map making) so she could one day find her way back to her home town.
