The party is approached by one of the Mages from the caverns, responsible for the Summoning Gem and explains that he witnessed their great deeds. Handing the party a sealed parchment, he explains that the party must take it to Lady Gale and Lord Vernar’s home servant (whom they had previously spoken to).
- The party returns to Lady Gale/Lord Vernar’s home and speaks with their servant, and hands them the parchment. The servant opens the parchment and nods, his tone changing to one of speaking honorably to the party. He takes them around to the back of the house, where he reveals a hidden door leading beneath the home of Lady Gale and Lord Vernar.
- When questioned about the note, he explains that the note speaks of their bravery and success in shattering the Summoning Stone; placing the faith of the mages in the party, which the servant explains, raises his faith. He goes on to say that he did not let them see Lady Gale or Lord Vernar because he did not want to risk their lives.
- As soon as the party steps down into the hidden stairway that leads down, they are over come with a numbing cold sensation. The stairs lead immediately down into a small room with a wooden table, stained with blood. The party surmises that it must be a sacrificial table. Finding nothing else, they press on down the hall, where they see what appears to be a shadow going through one door and passing through another. Ghostly voices can be heard by the party as they press on; warning them of something. (Two separate warnings).
- Venturing down the hall, they go into the door to the left where they find all the bodies that have been discarded (after being sacrificed on the table). The party also finds themselves with the room’s “cleaner” – a carrion crawler. Bodrag is struck first, and falls victim to the carrion crawler’s paralyzing touch. However, the rest of the party is able to move in and slay the carrion crawler before it can devour the living Bodrag. Unable to shake the effects of the paralyzing touch, Omen summons a magical disc to carry Bodrag.
- The party ventures into the next room, where they find what appears to be all the scattered possessions of the missing females. They also encounter a Flesh Golem, forged from some of the pieces of the female victims. The party manages to defeat the Flesh Golem, putting some of the spirits to rest.
- Bodrag is finally able to shake off the effects of the paralyzation and the party continues until they reach a room that has a large pool of spewing brown liquid that stinks of decay and brimstone. Trying to edge around the pool, and find themselves attacked by unholy creatures. Ariana is able to finally Bless the room which drives the weak, demon like creatures away.
- Moving into the final room the party finds Lady Gale floating in the center of a massive pentagram that glows and pulsates a deep, reddish color. Pausing they examine the room, and suddenly see Lord Vernar appear – and much to the party’s surprise, he is the one behind Lady Gale’s eternal youth – having struck a deal with a demon, which he summons to attack the party.
- The demon is nearly defeated, when it stops and promises to grant one wish for each member, if they allow the demon to live free.
- Lord Vernar pleads that the party does not kill the demon, because if they do, Lady Gale’s body will accelerate in age, and she will die.
- Because the party is mostly good, they know they can not make a deal with the demon, and that unfortunately Lady Gale must pay the final price for her husband’s actions. The party kills the demon, which in turn, kills Lady Gale, as he body’s age accelerates at blinding speed, turning her flesh to liquid. Lord Vernar falls to his knees and surrenders.
- The party captures Lord Vernar’s Homonculous, as well as finding a number items and books of very questionable nature (that allowed Lord Vernar to do what he did with the demon).
