  • The Sahuagin’s blood frenzy ability (in which, if someone is not at full health, they gain advantage!) – with the combination that many members are wearing no armor at all – gives the Sahuagin a massive advantage – and the party is beyond bloodied and drained of all spells before that fight is even close to over; it almost seems that this is the end of the party, but they manage to pull off a victory and quickly swim back up to the giant turtle to regain health and magic, choosing to long rest there for the night…
  • The following morning, Adrian speaks with Wade about the Sahuagin and potentially getting armor and weapons. Wade explains that the Sahaugin are all over the Plane of Water and one of the greatest threats to ships, and even kingdoms that lay up against the vast oceans of the Plane of Water, because of how quick and ruthless they can be – able to breathe both air and water, and move as quickly on both.
  • Wade introduces the party to several of the merchants that are a part of his crew; several of them tan the skin of various animals they’ve hunted and turned them into leather armor that feels natural in the water (Leather Armor +2). There are several merchants that also offer to allow them to use tridents.
  • Wade also introduces Adrian to someone who isn’t a Water Genasi, another human, who doesn’t give his name. Adrian asks the human if he could help make it so the ring that allows him to speak to Isabella, to make it so it doesn’t require attunement. Adrian explains he can only bind to so many magic items – and the dangers seem to be increasing, so he may need the attunement for something else. The human takes the ring – looks it over and immediately asks, “Do you realize this ring has some demonic origins?” Adrian then explains how he came to possess the ring (see Session 49 for more details) The human then adds, “You’ve probably not realized it, because it’s a minor bit of what it appears to be doing – but it’s been ebbing off your life force, little by little, feeding into something else.” Adrian realizes, not too long ago, he’d been aged by magic, roughly ten years (see Session 65) – so it would have been difficult to detect he’d been aging more, ever so slightly. The human assures Adrian that he can remove the demonic influence as well – with some effort – remove the attunement, once the demonic influence was removed. Adrian then asks, “My fiance’ got a ring similar to mine – do you think…” Without waiting, the human answers, “Yes.”
  • Adrian takes the ring to contact Isabella to warn her, and as he connects telepathically and sees her visually – she raises the ring up and places her other hand on her belly – she’s pregnant! Adrian gasps with excitement. Then urgently explains, “Listen! You have to take off that ring! Now more than ever! I’ve just learned that these rings are ebbing off our life and feeding into something else. I am getting mine fixed by a human I just met – so that I can use it – but you need to remove yours until that ring is fixed.” He then shares the excitement of the news and shares it with the others in the party who congratulate him.
  • Diving back into the water, feeling better prepared, they see the ship wreck at the bottom of the sea; but that’s not it – they see a large creature – which Wade had warned them about the night before – the legendary creature known as the Swavian – an aquatic version, by the description, of the Basilisk – the party was all too familiar with Basilisks. (Session 56 and Session 22)
  • The party tries to swim and use seaweed for cover, but Sephrenia swims too far (Critical Fail on Stealth) and the Swavian rears up and readies itself for the attack!
