In truth, “Sumyungsloth” was not even sure if that was his true name. Sumyungsloth never knew either of his parents. He had been raised by a woman, who had found the half-orc infant abandoned, by the looks of it, a very recent childbirth that happened in the orchard, based on the amount of blood that had been around the infant. The woman who took the half-orc in and began raising him was a human woman, who like the half-orc, had been an orphan. Màthair Tròcair had been a victim of war that ravaged the land when none other than the orc tribe, The Broken Hand, had raged a massive war that tore much of the continent of Tawaim apart, before they had ultimately been defeated. Despite the fact that orcs had been the ones who killed Màthair Tròcair’s parents, she held no ill will or blame towards the innocent infant she’d found.

Her husband, Neach-obrach, was less than thrilled with house and raising an infant half-orc. He feared that the people of the small town of Sìthiche would view the couple as orc sympathizers. As the years passed, the half-orc found that he had a difficult time fitting in among humans; and he knew, without a doubt, being a “half breed” would make him unwelcomed among the orcs as well. As such, the half-orc struggled to find his place in the world. He only knew that his adoptive father often referred to him as “some young sloth” – indicating he was a young orc who was slow to do any work. As such, the half-orc adopted “Sumyungsloth” as his adoptive name eventually.

With no way to find true work among the people of Sìthiche, who were not shy about showing their mistrust of Sumyungsloth, the half-orc eventually ran away to see if he could find acceptance somewhere in the world. He eventually met a traveling set of adventurers who were headed to some new continent that was yielding riches and relics of great value. Not only did this appeal to Sumyungsloth’s curiosity, but perhaps he could create a new life there as well. The adventurers passed through a Halfling village, known for their incredible fruits, where they picked up one of the halflings named Dingo, who joined them and rode with them to Moontide Port, where they booked passage aboard the Alpha Dawn.
