After the break, the party continued to move through the gnoll & hyena infested cavern. Finding a room, they unlocked the door and found an Elven prisoner who had been severely beat. Spending time mending his wounds, and calling upon their deities to heal the Elf, they learned that he had come into the cave, chasing his Blink Dog that had been chasing down a pack of hyenas. Deep in the cave, there was a pool that the Blink Dog, exhausted and dehydrated had drank from; which impacted the Blink Dog’s mentality, and warped his mind. The Elf explained that he believes he knows what the cure to the water infection is; and he knows that it’s guarded by a powerful gnoll that seems to be the leader of this pack of marauding murderers.

The party moved on, and encountered a powerful gnoll Shaman, who the party effortlessly took down, surprising him and killing him before he could even cast a spell. Inside the Shaman’s room, they found a Faerie Dragon imprisoned in a cage. The Faerie Dragon was clearly severely distressed after the torment it endured at the hands of the Gnoll Shaman. After freeing it, Kai played her instrument to soothe the creature who then took an immediate liking to her.

They proceeded into the final room of the cave, where the found the gnoll leader, a foul creature named Bloodfang. At Bloodfang’s feet was the body of Silvertan, another Dragonborn named Silvertan, from Ivory Coast and Bloodfang was using his enchanted nunchucks in the battle, which grievously wounded several members of the party, before the battle finally turned allowing them to pull off a narrow victory. With Bloodfang defeated, the Elf quickly turned to Brolimir and informed him, since he is a druid, he would need his ability to help purify the water. After Zelona blessed the room, the Elf and Brolimir were able to purify the water that had driven the Elf’s Blink Dog crazy. The party soon learned that the contaminated water is what was coming out from the mountain and into the river, that the local wild life was drinking from; including a local pack of wolves, which had made them extremely aggressive; and the mysterious white wolf that could seemingly teleport was none other than this Elf’s Blink Dog.

The Elf parted ways, and said he would capture his Blink Dog and cure it; and that the madness of the local wolf pack would eventually also regain their senses once the corrupt water supply was destroyed.

The party returned to the Ivory Coast, where Brolimir confirmed with Marcella that they had found her son, Martimeer, and that he had perished in the gnoll cavern.

Belgar Daggeredge and the party celebrated the defeat of the gnolls and the problem with the wolves finally being put away. During the drinking and celebration, Belgar brought up to the party, about having them escort the next set of wagons headed out to the trade city of Ridge Crest. The party agreed, because this aligned with Urthez’s own mission to find out what had happened to the Thieve’s communication with the Thieves of Ridge Crest.
