  • The party purchased several weeks of rations before beginning their long trek to Rockhome
  • Along the way, the party was ambushed by brigands, who were easily dispatched, and had an assortment of rations in their wagon as well
  • The party opted to take their wagon as well as they continued their trek
  • Deep into the forest, a human, cut up, bruised and bleeding, burst from the brush, asking for the party to help save his wife, Isabella
  • The man explained that orcs, who have been raiding their town (and other small neighboring towns) for years, had just taken his wife, and he feared for the worse
  • He went on to explain that the orcs only take women, and only kill the men if they get in the way, otherwise there seems to be little interest in killing humans
  • The party agreed to help the human find, and if possible, rescue Isabella from the clutches of the Orcs
  • Argo was able to track the orcs for most of the day, before they were forced to rest
  • Luna sent her bird, River to examine the area, who came back and reported seeing “many people in the ruins ahead”
  • Shortly after, the party found themselves being attacked by orcs, who were hiding their numbers and positions by impairing Infravision by burning the woods and hiding behind the fire and smoke
  • The party, after some wounds, was finally able to put an end to the orcs who had attacked them; though two of the orcs had fled once their leaders had been killed
  • Those two orcs ran back to the ruins to warn the others that “adventurers” were coming
  • The orcs scrambled into the ruins, taking the female slaves they had just taken with them
  • The party followed the orcs into the ruins, where Bodrag, while crossing a thin plank board slipped and fell, grabbing the board, snapped it and plunged a great distance into the pit and took considerable damage
  • A rescue effort was set up to get him, and with a little bit of additional difficulty, he was finally pulled from the pit
  • The party continued on, and found themselves fighting Orcs, as well as – for the first time seen on the world – Half-Orcs, half-human/Half-Orc!
  • It became very clear why the women were being taken; to create half breeds; but the exact reason behind it all, eluded the party
  • The party eventually found the slave pens, where hundreds of women were captured; all of them in various stages of pregnancy, some with infants that were clearly half-orcs
  • The party made their way down the spiral stairs where they opened the door to a great chapel, that once had a large female, elven statue of Nifika; now in it’s place was a vile statue of Grumthak, the Orc God of War.
  • The priests worshiping the statue had not noticed the party, so the party attempted to sneak in, however, they triggered a trap that the Eye of Grumthak had enabled; which detected Invisibility and targeted all those not of Evil alignment with Faire Fire.
  • The combat was long, and drastic; Bodrag fumbled his weapon (and fumbled the attempt to recover it), shattering his Rune Blade, so that it exploded and sent him flying into the wall (once again taking even more damage)
  • The party finally managed to defeat the priests
  • Luna went to the top of the Grumthak statue, shaped stone and removed the statue’s eye and threw it on the ground, while Tenjii was standing there; the eye exploded flinging Tenjii against the wall for moderate damage
  • The party found the key that opened the door to the slave pens, and among them found Isabella
  • The party escorted and fed all the women, using their ample rations, back to the small farming village of Onetree.
  • The party stayed there for the night, before pressing on.
  • Several more nights of camping the party finally reached Stonepass, the large passage way that split between two continue, large mountain ranges
  • Making their way through Stonepass, the party sees a small fortress in the face of the mountain and makes their way up to it, just to find several (ancient) dead dwarves. Investigating, the party eventually encounters Drow have taken over this once Dwarven Kingdom of Merashall (Of Stone and Fire, in the Dwarven tongue).
  • Omen attempts to talk to them, but they’re clearly furious that he’s traveling with two Elves (Ariana, a High Elf and Luna, a Wild Elf) as well as a Dwarf (Bodrag)
  • When it’s clear things are not going their way, the party quickly flees, and escapes, only to find a ragged human sitting in their cart; the human screams out in constant rhymes, clearly having lost his mind
  • When the ragged human sees Omen, he quickly flees (headed in the same direction as the party)
  • The party eventually is forced to make camp in Stonepass, where up ahead they can hear the constant echos of the mad man who had been sitting in their cart
  • Late into the night, they hear something behind them and discover the three Drow who had been in Merashall were now hunting them down with what appeared to be a massive dog, with a brain for a head (Intellect Devourer)
  • The party engaged the Drow and Intellect Devourer, and managed to defeat them before pressing on
  • As soon as they entered the Golden Wastelands, they were approached by men wearing brown and tan robes, and cloth over their heads; warned them of the dangers of the desert and sand
  • The party continued along the path and reached a oasis, where they found the crazed man, clinging to a palm tree at the top
  • Omen used a rope to pull the crazed man down from the tree and subdue him (after he freaked out further by being “captured” again by “them”)
  • Tenjii used her gnome tinkered net and managed to catch a large fish in a near by body of water
  • The party continued on and made it to GnomeHome, where Tenjii met with her family, and the party reunited briefly with Teendargo Steamspinner, who tinkered an infrared set of googles for Argo (which had large, mechanical eagle wings made of wires, metals and gears). Though the googles did allow Argo to see in infrared, they also made the rest of the surroundings appear “red” in color as well.
  • The party camped here for the night, knowing that RockHome was not too much further away
