The exact origins of how the Lizardfolk came to be is unknown. Many different tribes celebrate and follow different “deities” – some some, not at all – but rather, celebrate and worship great heroes of the Lizardfolk tribe. Many sages believe that they may somehow be related to Kobolds and/or Dragonborn in some way, while others believe the Lizardfolk are an evolution; and even others debate that there is much history still to be learned that the Lizardfolk may have lost over time; and the swamps that they call home may hold the answers in buried/sunk temples.

The Lizard People originally fought the humans who they’d felt were intruding on their lands and swamps; however, over time, a mutual understanding was made between the Lizard People and the Humans. Humans would trade with the Lizard People, offering metal weapons, food, and medicine, and the Lizard People agreed to be guides through dangerous swamps. Over time, more and more Lizard People began to appear in cities. They are very rare, however.
