• The party returns to King Saric with the news about the tower and that the last broadcasted message was that the town before hand had sent a message: “More relic items recovered.”
  • The King has almost completed the process of recovering his castle and cleaning it out. In the meantime, a message has reached him that a small town to the north called Skotland has been having an issue with increased undead rising up, as well as the abduction and disappearance of many of its female population, and would like the party to go investigate.
  • Traveling through the snow, the party reaches the outer plains of Skotland, when they take first night’s camp. While camped, the party is “annoyed” by the sound of what appears to be “fairy laughter” – only to discover, come the morning a large portion of their money has been “stolen” by Leprechauns. (The party is, reasonably, furious!)
  • The party continues to Skotland where they begin to speak to some of the local and confirm that there is indeed a problem with the undead, abductions of women, as well as young children dying.
  • One of the people they speak to is Barek, the town’s local mage (and thought to be the problem of either the undead, the missing women, or perhaps both). Barek assures the party that he has nothing to do with it, and promises the party if they help solve both problems, he will help them (in this case, identifying some magical items that party has acquired).
  • Rumors seem to circulate that something suspicious is happening in some caves near by as well as something unusual with Lady Gale remaining so young looking, despite her age.
  • The party attempts to speak with Lady Gale, but the lady’s Butler refuses to allow them entrance. The party then turns their attention to the near by caves, where they discover a cult of mages. The mages explain that they are to blame for the undead; but it was not their intention. They had used a crystal to try and summon and trap the demon (they suspect) abducting women; instead, they tampered with magic beyond their control and unwillingly opened a portal that allows souls to return to the world. They explain that the crystal needs to be destroyed; but they don’t have the means or knowledge how to do so.
  • The party goes to the graveyard where the crystal is, and after fighting some of the undead there, manage to reach the crystal. After some thinking, Ariana – the cleric – realizes that her Staff of Healing is what is needed to destroy the Gem of the Undead; and uses it to shatter the crystal, which also destroys her healing staff.
