ARGO Character Background:
Your parents were simple merchants and traders, traveling between towns selling their wares, making money where they could. One fateful night, when you were just barely a baby, while passing through Wildthorn Woods, your family found themselves attacked by brigands.
Your father fought them off bravely, buying your mother enough time to grab you and run into the Wildthorn Woods, without sense of direction – simply running away from the brigands, crying all the while, knowing that she was leaving her husband to die at the hands at the ruthless thieves.
She had run, until she could not run anymore. Her chest ached, her legs burned, and she finally collapsed into the shadows of the Wildthorn Woods. Much to her dismay, the brigands had given chase, and easily tracked her by following the trail of broken branches through the woods. Knowing that if the brigands caught her, they would have they would have their way with her, and kill her only son – she set her son down within a hollow fallen tree, and purposely made noise, running in the opposite direction.
As she ran, drawing the attention of the brigands, who cheered at the sound of having picked up her trail, she prayed to Florasena, the Goddess of Life, to protect her son.
Whatever happened next remains a fluttering memory, in which you can’t seem to grasp; your memory then picks up as a young boy, a mere five years old living in an orphanage. Even in your youth, you knew something foul had befallen your parents. You demanded to know what happened; and when you turned ten years old, the truth was finally told; that they had been murdered by brigands in the Wildthorn Woods.
That next night, you ran away from the orphanage and made your way, traveling with various merchants, until you arrived at the Wildthorn Woods. You weren’t sure what you were expecting to find; certainly the brigands were still not living there. Still, you learned to live off the land, and made the Wildthorn Woods your home. You followed merchants who passed through the Wildthorn Woods and protected them from potential ambushes from other brigands and those who would prey on the less fortunate.
One of the merchants you had saved worked directly for King Saric, a known and noble king whose kingdom had fallen to great evil. The merchant requested that you come along, and that the King may have need of your services and skills.
