  • NPCs:
    • Disnarium – High Elf (Rune Knight, NPC)
    • Kraun Torodon – Tiefling (Businessman Rogue, NPC)
  • The Appointed One of the Hadozee civilization thanks the party for their hand in helping restore the Garr’ynch’s heart (see Session 79)
  • He asks if there is anything he can do for the party, after explaining he’s sent men out to begin getting lumber to fix the Spelljammer; but it will take several weeks to complete the repairs
  • Kraun approaches the Appointed One and asks about a teleport back home; that he needs to pick up something from there. The Appointed One agrees, and Korra and Adrian quickly wish to go back, while Don, Elon Dusk and Buppido decide to remain behind and get som rest
  • Kraun, Korra and Adrian are teleported back, and Kraun explains it’s extremely expensive to teleport across the planes like that; he introduces Korra to his two sons (who had been living in Drastor and his “ambassadors” while he had been traveling around making deals among other cities; i.e., establishing “unofficial trade routes”) – and the party meets his sons, both Tieflings, like himself Zen, the older son; and Varr, the younger son.
  • Kraun hands Varr a dagger and Varr sighs and gifts up his short sword, which is clearly decorated in Elvish runes and gives it to his father. Kraun admires the blade and explains there’s been no lycanthrope in the Astral Plane; and if the Wererats from Lakefront decide to come looking for the Skull-Gem, unaware of what’s happened to it, it’s better that his son has a blade specially enchanted to deal with such creatures
  • Adrian excuses himself and rushes to find Isabella, which he does; and while she scolds him for not keeping in contact through the ring; she can not stay mad at him for long, and soon the two embrace and kiss. She goes on to explain the reason she was so angry was that it had been a month – which startled Adrian who explained it’d only been four days. She laughed and said it was definitely been a little over a month. She explained she tried to contact him through the ring, but if he wasn’t wearing it he couldn’t hear her; so Adrian then slid on the ring. Together, they walked through the temple and she showed him around, and he was astonished to see so much had been done since they departed; clearly it had been more than four days. When they got to the bathhouse, Adrian convinced everyone to leave and he and Isabella, celebrated their time together in the bathhouse privately
  • Meanwhile, Korra spoke to one of the “guild” members and asked how so much had gotten done in so little time, and the guild member explains, that while a lot had been done in thirty days, there was still more to do; Korra was stunned when the guild member had said it’d been thirty days, as she believed only four days had passed. He escorted Korra to her room and she discovered the upper area where Buppido had previously encountered several creatures (see Session 72) had mostly been cleared out and converted over to barracks. Korra thanks the guild members and sits in her room, which is now furnished, but otherwise empty. She thinks about how to contact her family in the Planes, and curses that Sephrenia is still unconscious from the psychic lance. She heaved a deep sigh and headed for the bathhouse which the guild member had said was completed also, wishing to relax and take her mind off of things. When she swung the door open, she was surprised to see it empty except for a couple as she stepped in and got closer – she could see it was Adrian and Isabella engaged in adult activities in one of the pools and quickly and quietly retreated out of the room. She spent the rest of the time walking around the pyramid.
  • While Korra asks about some of the workers they’d hired and how Drastor was coming along, now that it’d been a month; Adrian and Isabella return to their room to continue their adult activities
  • Back on the floating, forested asteroid Kruezadune, Buppido heads to the tavern where he’s told by the bartender and cook, the Thri-Kreen named Varuskk that the meat supply has run very low; so the bar isn’t getting any, it’s being dispersed to families first
  • Buppido sighs and heads back to the Spelljammer to break the news to Don and Elon Dusk who sigh; he looks around and notices that Disnarium is off talking to several people on the pier
  • After Adrian sees the terrarium at the top where Isabella explains that the top of the pyramid was made of thick glass, and it seemed, based on the markings, it was to watch and track the stars, for some reason; but she’s now turned it into a place to grow several plants, herbs and even small trees. Adrian meets up with Korra and Kraun, who then teleport back to Kruezadune. Both Korra and Adrian share how they were surprised to learn that a little over thirty days had passed, but for them only four days had passed. Kraun explains that Disnarium had mentioned to him that the initial jump from Kne’Urth, while only an instant for all aboard the Spelljammer – it takes 30 days of the world’s rotation for the Spelljammer to actually reach the Astral Plane. So when/if they return from the Astral Plane back to Kne’Urth, it will also take 30 days to “return” though for everyone aboard the Spelljammer it will seem like 30 seconds.
  • The trio meet up with Don, Elon Dusk and Buppido aboard the Spelljammer and begin discussing how things were back at the pyramid base and how time had passed by quickly for the initial jump. Kraun asks what the plan is while the Hadozee fix the ship; if they were going to do the job of hunting down the Highland Shaggy Cow (DM Note – The players came up with that name because I hadn’t thought of what this meat was that the players enjoyed eating – so once they said that I envisioned a Mammoth… now what comes up here in a moment is unexpected…)
  • The party agrees that they’ve got nothing better to do; and as they’re getting ready, a small, fey creature landed on Korra’s shoulder which made her smile. It was a Skyfox, native to the Plane of Air, her home – and she immediately recognized her familiar, Rei.
  • After checking on Sephrenia, who was laying on the floor next to her bed, they put her back into her bed and wrap her up in her blankets in such a way that she can’t fall off her bed (which is what they suspect happened – what actually happened is Elon Dusk shoved her off her own bed so he could lay in it – even though he had his own bed – See Session 78)
  • They leave the Spelljammer and speak to the Appointed One, who explains the devourer of the Highland Shaggy Cows is up in the mountains and points to a series of mountains that are not too far away.
  • The party begins heading in that direction, once again, entering the dense woods; Korra sends Rei to fly around and leap from branch to branch. After a moment, Rei comes back down and sees to be wanting to express something. Don comes over and casts Speak with Animals and Rei is able to convey a message of “bird people.”
  • Elon Dusk takes to the air using his winged boots and scans the area where Rei seemed to indicate “bird people” – and sure enough, Elon Dusk quickly spots them. He lands and confirms what Rei has seen. He also notes that there are caves about fifty feet up the face of the mountain where there appears to be giant nests, so he assumes that’s where their home is.
  • The party reaches the face of the mountain, and using Korra’s Levitate ability along with Elon Dusk pulling them up, they manage to get four people up; and the others climb the rope with the help of the others. They’re greeted by one of the bird people who calls themselves Whitefeather and explains that they’re Aarakocra. The party asks Whitefeather about the devourer of the Highland Shaggy Cows, and Whitefeather explains that they should seek the help of Bearhog. They ask about Bearhog, and they explain he’s very strong, but not very smart; he loves the meat of the Highland Shaggy Cows. The party asks if there are any Highland Shaggy Cows nearby and Whitefeather points out there is a massive plateau that many of the creatures dwell; and he points them out to where it’s at. They make their way across the mountain heading that way; Adrian slips and falls and takes some minor damage, thankfully not falling far. When they reach the plateau – they’re astonished at the size of the Highland Shaggy Cows… and Don recognizes the beasts as Mammoths on Kne’Urth.
The Highland Shaggy Cow… better known as a Mammoth on Kne’Urth
  • Don shakes his head and tells the party this is bad news; they had hoped to kill one of the Highland Shaggy Cows (DM Note – This is not what I had thought would happen, so I had to quickly look up Mammoths) in order to offer it to Bearhog as a sign of faith. First, the party searched for a large stone that perhaps Elon Dusk could drop on one; but after failing to find any (failed Nature check), Elon Dusk decides that he will drop his javelin on the weakest one and manages to spot it; he throws the javelin, going for a called shot – and just misses, which then alerts the Highland Shaggy Cow who lets out a loud noise; and soon all the others begin stomping their feet loudly, shaking their heads, waving their trunks around; and Don explains this is a tactic to ward off any prowlers who might think it’s a good idea to attack the herd.
  • The party still manages to kill a young Highland Shaggy Cow; but with the herd on high alert (failed their perception check to see the dead one), the party debates how to retrieve the meat of a 300 pound animal without drawing attention to themselves
  • Eventually the party develops the plan to have Don’s drake, along with Korra’s flying skyfox to fly around and move the herd away from the dead Highland Shaggy Calf; and quickly, Elon Dusk, Adrian and Buppido make their way down; with Buppido casting Guidance on Adrian who manages to cut off a leg with Elon Dusk’s help and quickly scamper up the ledge they’d attacked from
  • They continue along the way, heading for where Whitefeather had mentioned they could find Bearhog; and come to another plateau where there are two large peaks, each with a waterfall cascading down the sides, with the streams meeting in the center where a large lake formed; and the water flowed downward, towards them creating yet another beautiful waterfall
Bearhog calls this place home… but what or who is Bearhog…?
  • The party suddenly takes notice to what they’d thought was just another massive tree; but when it moved, they realized it was a giant that stood roughly 35′ tall…
Meet Bearhog, the giant sized B’rohg
