King Saric got news about temples rising out of a swamp land known as “The Sinking City” – and that magical, evil, artifacts were being recovered from these ancient temples and being distributed into the world
- King Saric hired Argo, Tenjii and Ariana again
- Bodrag, of the Stormforge Clan, delivered weapons to help equip King Saric’s army and agreed to join Argo, Tenjii and Ariana. A gnome, by the name of Teendargo (a Mage), who had been picked up by Bodrag (since he was headed for Guardstone himself) joined.
- Luna, a Wild Elf Druid, also joined, sensing much distress and corruption in the land; which seemed to be coming from the Sinking City
- On the way to Moontide Port, they found themselves attacked by a small band of goblins
- Defeating the goblins, they discovered that they had been hired to assassinate Bodrag, and stop him from delivering the weapons to King Saric (which they failed at, anyway)
- At Moontide Port, they met with the captain of The Midnight Sea Cutter – a minotaur named Trihorn.
- Aboard his ship, the part had been attacked by some form of humanoid sea creatures that commanded sharks; and were able to successfully repel their attack
- The party was not able to determine what the underwater humanoids were
- Arriving at the Sinking City; Tenjii was able to make some contacts and learned that there were several warring Thieves’ Guild factions; as well as “unaligned” factions that did not bow to any Thieves’ Guild
- Teendargo spoke with the Mayor of the Sinking City and was able to get hired as a bounty hunter of those Guild factions that were at war; paying a price for every “mark” that he and Bodrag brought back to the Mayor
- Luna attempted to commune with nature; but could not sense any animals; since they had fled, once the temples roses, due to the evil they emanated
- In the temple; the party found the very halls to be haunted, almost alive; voices constantly speaking to them in a language none of them could understand
- Markings on the temple floor were filled; and initially did not seem to make sense; but later discovered, it was a strange homage to an ancient, evil being they encountered later
- In one of the rooms; they encountered a being, in dark blue robes, and silver emblems all over his robe; the being seemed to be an Elf (pointed ears), though far more ancient than any known elf (whose skin was pale, to almost being colorless)
- The powerful ancient elf was able to fend off all their attacks; and had acquired an ancient artifact it sought (a sphere, which appeared to have a living world inside of it)
- During the fight with the “Ancient Elf”, Teendargo grabbed one of the relic staffs, which seemed to respond to his magical abilities
- After Ariana called upon her goddess to cleanse the temple; the Ancient Elf teleported away and the temples immediately began to sink back into the ground
- The party managed to escape
- Outside, they encountered brigands; to which Teendargo learned the ancient staff seemed to become a part of him; almost an extension of his own body in how it responded to him
- After escaping, the party rested for one night in the Inn, setting up traps to defend themselves in case of attack; and then early in the morning, made passage on another boat that stopped at Jagged Port and the Isle of Horns before returning to Moontide Port
- There, the party made their report to the King about their findings of the ancient relics, the temples (and how they sunk back into the ground), and the Ancient Elf who escaped with a relic
- Teendargo gave the staff to the king for his mages to try and examine
- The party was rewarded with gold, by the king
