  • Aros – Lightfoot Halfling, Rogue
  • Galiena Erenaeth – Half Elf, Celestial Warlock / Druid
    • Dearbhán – NPC, Fairy Dragon (Galiena’s pet)
    • Kavium – NPC, Tiefling Paladin (Oath of Conquest)
    • Darko Wintersage – NPC, Undead Wizard (Flame Skull)
  • Baldur – Human, Pack Chain Warlock (Spear) / Paladin
    • Hellina Kaitlyn Deramu – Human NPC, Wererat
  • After resting inside the cave (Aros, Galiena and Kavium took a beating in Session 30), Aros asks if Galiena can misty step him to the other side (since that’s how she’d crossed originally), and she agrees, and Misty Steps, but realizes, once she’s on the other side, it’s only herself.
  • Kavium chuckles, and makes his way across the rope to the other side
  • Galiena calls out to Aros, “Don’t worry – I was told the fish are friendly!” (Her snarky remark is a cut at Aros, who’d told her previously, that the fish seemed friendly, and she discovered the fish were actually Quipper fish)
  • Aros uses the rope to tight rope across and lands on the other side safely
  • Kavium looks at Aros then the rope then back to Aros, “So, how are you going to recover the rope if you left it tied on the other side?”
  • Aros looks back, “Son of a…”
  • Making his way back across the rope, to the other side, he keeps an eye on the Dark Mantle, which is still devouring the Red Cap Aros had lured out
  • Aros tries to untie the rope; but between Galiena and Kavium also having previous tried to cross it, the knot is so tightly wound he’s unable to do so (Aros failed a DC 10 Survival check to untie the knot, so that’s how I flavored it). Sighing, he cuts off 5′ of the rope and grabs the end of the rope, making his way back along the ledge, and to the other side where he unties it there, leaving him with 45′ of rope
  • As they all gather themselves; they hear someone approaching and prepare to attack
  • Much to their surprise, it’s Baldur
  • “What are you doing here?” Galiena asks
  • “Well, the guy who brought you here, Eye Gloss,” Baldur begins.
  • “Igoss,” Kavium corrects
  • “Yes, him,” Baldur confirms, “he brought you here and waited a few hours on the road. When you guys didn’t come out, he feared the murder gnomes had gotten the best of you and returned back to Greenhaven where he went and got me, since he knew we were traveling companions and brought me back here. I was pretty sure I was going to be doing a corpse recovery, but pleasantly surprised to see you’re all still alive.”
  • He examines Kavium and Galiena’s leather armor and notices several bite marks. “What’s that? Murder Gnomes bit you?”
  • “No,” Galiena snarls. “That’d be the Quipper fish in the lake.”
  • Baldur shoves his spear into the lake and successfully spears one of the Quipper fish onto the end of his spear. “Oh, yeah – they have some big teeth.”
  • As the party made their way back up the tall slope of the cave’s entrance and back out, over to Igoss, who is sitting on his wagon, Baldur calls out, “You made the right choice coming to get me. Not sure what would have happened to them without me.”
  • “We survived without you,” Galiena snaps
  • “But you came out of the cave with me,” Baldur smiles. He shows the Quipper fish to Igoss, then gestures to Galiena’s legs, which show similar bite marks. “As you can see, I clearly saved them.”
  • Galiena rolls her eyes as she and the others climb into Igoss’ wagon and make their way back to Greenhaven
  • As Baldur is recounting his tales of heroism and how he has frequently had to save his companions; he hears some sounds off in the distance
  • Baldur pauses his story to listen, and hears several voices, “We shouldn’t have trusted her!” “She said she’d give us all a gift!” “She lied! This isn’t what we asked for!”
  • Baldur whispers to Igoss, “Wait.”
  • Igoss pulls his horses to a stop. “What is it?”
  • “I hear something,” Baldur replies.
  • “The sound of my horses breathing?” Igoss whispers back.
  • “No,” Baldur shakes his head. “Talking.”
  • “That was you,” Igoss explains
  • “No, someone besides me talking,” Baldur replies
  • “That’s hard to believe anyone could get in a word edge wise,” Kavium chuckles
  • Baldur peers over his shoulder at Kavium who is sitting on the back of the wagon with Galiena while Aros is once again hiding in the Wheat Bag
  • Baldur looks to Galiena, “I think I hear more murder gnomes.”
  • “We killed them all,” Galiena whispers.
  • “You killed the ones inside the cave,” Baldur counters. “These are outside the cave.”
  • “There’s no way there’s more,” Galiena commented. “We killed them and their panther mount.”
  • “This might be the wolf riding kind that I told you about before,” Baldur counters.
  • “It wasn’t a wolf riding two headed gnome!” Galiena says through clenched teeth. “It was that damn two headed dog.”
  • “Sure you will believe in two headed dogs but not two headed wolf riding murder gnomes,” Baldur sighs
  • Baldur looks at Kavium, “You’re more reasonable than she is. Listen, I hear some voices and it might be more murder gnomes. We should go look.”
  • “Have you seen the leather armor I am wearing? It’s all cut up, and barely holding things in place if you know what I mean,” Kavium complains
  • “Yes,” Baldur nods, “I am trying to keep my eyes up.”
  • “Well the murder gnomes are very short, all their cuts were really low; a few times I was worried,” Kavium admits. “But all right, if there’s more of these bastards, we need to take care of them.”
  • As Baldur gets off the wagon, Kavium follows, Galiena sighs, and Aros climbs out of the wagon. Igoss calls out, “Hey! Listen. Just in case it’s murder gnomes, I will be back this way in an hour to look for you. I’d rather not be waiting around in the dark.”
  • Baldur makes his way through, and to his surprise finds a small camp of six goblins peering over the ledge
  • Baldur quickly recognizes Kra’krar (the goblin they’d met when they first washed ashore on Eagle Rock, all the way back at Session 1!) as well Jauhk (the goblin who had vanished inside the manor) and pointed the party towards Felhorn
  • Baldur hails them and they begin exchanging pleasantries as to what each side has been up to
  • Kavium sighs, “You allied yourselves with Kobolds, fine.” (See Session 6 when they first met the Kobolds). He looks, “But goblins as well?”
  • “We washed up ashore, with just the three of us, and the goblins were there to give us some pointers, and even pointed us to Felhorn, where you got to meet her,” Baldur replies, gesturing towards Galiena. “They can’t be that bad, right?”
  • Kavium sighs, “Is there anyone you’ve not allied with?”
  • “Sahuagin,” Galiena snarls bitterly at the memory. (referencing Session 4)
  • “And frog people,” Baldur adds (referencing Session 11)
  • “Well, I suppose it’s good to know the three of you don’t just ally with everyone you meet,” Kavium shrugs. “Though,” he admits, “it’s commendable that you see the good in everyone you meet. Breaking barriers, and all, he shrugs.” He looks at Galiena more fondly. “I underestimated you. Just thought you were very pretty. But there’s so much more to you,” he looks at Baldur and Aros, “all three of you really.”
  • Kra’krar explains that, down below is their tribe home; and that ‘a few nights ago’ (based on sleep cycles, since the sun and moon are normally not visible, except briefly during the Hollowing), an old woman approached the tribe and explained she could give them great power. Kra’krar explains that he was suspicious of the woman; as one usually doesn’t give away something without asking for something in return. He encouraged his chief to tell the old woman to go away and not accept her ‘gift’ – but the Chief, who had lost several to a band of murderous gnomes recently, wanted the gift in order to fight them; and thus accepted. But Kra’krar and five others, declined the gift and left.
  • Kra’krar explains that the ‘gift’ allows them to turn into some kind of large wolf. He also explains that their personalities since been given the gift has drastically changed – they almost seem far more feral. No sign of the personality they had resides in them anymore; and they’ve taken to trying to find Kra’krar and the five others, to kill them for not accepting the old woman’s ‘gift.’ Kra’krar explains that he could use the party’s help, if they’re willing to help put them down – permanently, if need be.
  • Baldur explains, “We can do that.”
  • “When we come back,” Galiena says.
  • “Come back?” Baldur looks at her. “We have to help Ka’ka.”
  • “Kra’krar,” the goblin sighs.
  • “We can help, after Kavium and I get our armor,” Galiena says
  • “Oh, fine,” Baldur sighs. “Ka’ka, Galiena and her boyfriend got banged up in another fight, so they have to get their armor. We will be right back.”
  • Kra’krar nods, “That fine. We stay here and spy on them.”
  • The party heads to Greenhaven, then meets Brandon just outside of town who escorts them through the secret passages and caverns that lead to Crescent’s secret den. There, Crescent confirms that the smith has finished repairing their armor. Aros asks if they have any tanners; and they explain they don’t. Aros mentions a special hide they have that they need to get tanned and changed into a cloak. Brandon explains there’s a well known tanner in Felhorn named Erynn Moonshade. Aros asks if Brandon would be able to deliver it to her so that they could tan it to a cloak. Brandon accepts it, and notices it’s the hide of Displacer Beast, and folds it up and gets a horse to begin riding to Felhorn with the hide.
  • Kavium and Galiena dress up in their armor
  • Aros asks Crescent if there’s any potion shops that she’s aware of in Greenhaven
  • Crescent explains there’s a male herbalist by the name of Trestor Everleaf who can make potions (but keeps a low supply, in case Lord Brenmoon’s men do a sweep; as healing potions are also generally forbidden, as they could benefit any form of rebellion). Only low doses to help with general wounds farmers may suffer
  • Aros gets directions and heads to Trestor’s alchemy shop; when Aros asks for potions of healing, Trestor corrects him to say, “Potions of mending.” Trestor explains that each one, due to the danger to himself and the constant damage to his garden by Lord Brenmoon’s men. Galiena follows Aros into Trestor’s shop, followed by Baldur and Kavium
  • Trestor explains the danger of Lord Brenmoon’s men posing against him; and he explains that a woman was recently taken from here in Greenhaven; and the guards discovered she somehow escaped and came back to Greenhaven looking for her and putting up wanted posters. He points to one of the wanted posters he’s forced to keep inside his shop. Then pauses, looking at the drawing then at Galiena.
  • Trestor looks at Galiena again, “Is that…”
  • Galiena points to Baldur, “It’s actually him.” Trestor looks at Baldur then back at Galiena. “It’s a long story.”
  • Aros asks if he has any potions to spare
    • DM Note: Since Aros was asking, I had Aros roll 1d10 to see how many potions he might have. Aros rolled a 1.
  • Trestor shakes his head, “All I have is one left. I am not sure if you heard about the merchants who were attacked by the ‘murder gnomes’ as they’re calling them – well, they came here and purchased most of my stock, just leaving me with one in case of an emergency.”
  • Aros purchases Trestor’s sole healing potion
  • Galiena mutters about how the Kobolds should be bringing Whistling Leaf into Greenhaven in exchange for the apples
  • Trestor hearing this says, “Wait. You’re the ones who brokered the deal with the Kobolds for the Whistling Leaf? Well, then hold here a moment,” and he goes to the back of his shop and comes back out, holding seventeen more potions. “I keep those in a hidden compartment in case Lord Brenmoon’s soldiers arrive. I can part with a few more; I have emergency stock in the back still for the town.”
  • Aros purchases five more healing potions from Trestor
  • Galiena purchases six potions
  • Baldur then purchases six potions as well
  • They party heads back to Igoss and he takes them back to where they heard voices; and he explains he will head back to Greenhaven and check back in an hour
  • Aros, Baldur, Galiena and Kavium make their way through the woods back to Kra’krar’s encampment overlooking their former goblin home
  • “So you said this old woman gifted them the ability to change into wolves, like werewolves?” Baldur asks
  • Kra’krar shrugs, “Sure, like werewolves.”
  • “If she inflicted them with Lycanthropy,” Aros pulls out Lycan Blade, “I have something that may be of some use. I just need to cut them and see how they react.”

  • The party stares down – and spots seven tents, and roughly eight goblins meandering around the camp; some are loading things into the tents, others are throwing wood onto the fire, others are dancing to music that only they seem to hear
  • Aros stealths down the hill and waits near one of the goblin tents, observing as one is going around lighting torches around the edge of camp; as it passes Aros in the bushes, Aros does a quick nick with Lycan Blade, but it doesn’t seem to react, except to reach down and see a small cut, complaining that they need to trim the thorns back, but continues walking. Aros recalls when he cut Kaitlyn, she was reeling from him; and when he’d cut Galiena, her skin burned as it killed the infection. This goblin had neither reaction.
  • Aros, figuring they need to capture one alive, draws out his crowbar from his bag, waits for another goblin to pass, and clubs him over the head and quickly yanks the unconscious goblin into the bushes
  • Just then he hears a howl; followed by another; then another as several figures enter the encampment, bringing deer in their large, canine mouths
  • From down here… these don’t look like wolves at all, Aros thinks…
