  • The party reaches Greenhaven (which is still trying to rebuild itself after the Dragon/Kobold attack)
  • Resources remain low and difficult to acquire in Greenhaven
  • Support from neighboring towns and villages has been sent to help with the reconstruction of Greenhaven
  • Governor Nighthill approaches the party after a day of rest and explains that the Monk that they had rescued (Leosin) has moved on to Redstone because of some urgent business in regards to the Cult of the Dragon and has asked that the party meet him there (ask for him, or his good friend Will Halloway)
  • Leosin has used his funds from the Monk Citadel to help pay for the required horses needed for the adventure to Redstone
  • The party rests and recoups their health and strength after the difficult battle in the hatchery for a day, and then proceeds to Redstone
  • Redstone is a town that derived it’s name, literally, from the red stones found inside the caves that the small town rests at the base of. The mountain town is literally built into the side of the mountain, and hundreds of tunnels can be seen around the town (which the villagers use, to both escape any oncoming trouble, as well, as use it as shelter when storms blow through the area – which are very common, because of Redstone’s position).
  • Kai knows that the legend of Redstone is that a heavenly being fell from the heavens and was impaled on the mountain; their blood seeped into the mountain, and that’s what the ‘red stones’ are. This is further believed because if you remove the red stone from the mountain, it immediately loses it’s color, and ‘dies’ and becomes a normal looking stone. Fact of the matter is, no one is sure what the red stones are, or how it is they work (remain red while in the mountain, but become dull stones, once removed).
  • The party goes to the small Inn located in Redstone, called Nightshade, owned by a bustling old human by the name of Bradbury.
  • After a few drinks, a tall, beautiful male paladin, with long flowing blond hair, and ice blue eyes enters the Inn and looks around. Spotting the party, he approaches them and introduces himself as Will Halloway.
  • He sits with them for one drink, before asking them to come up to his room. There, they see that Leosin (the Monk) is there, along with several other people. Each seems to represent a different ‘order’ (or organization), who have come together to put an end to the Cult of the Dragon and find out what they’re doing, and why their activity has increased so much of late.
  • Will Halloway explains that the Cult of Dragons has made an alliance with the followers of the demon lord, Belaros. Through their magic, they’ve been converting dragon eggs of the evil dragons (red, blue, green, black, and white) into Half Dragons (which resemble Dragonborn – but the Dragon Men have tails, and often times, far more lethal use of their dragon breath). The Half Dragons are humanoid versions of the dragons, used as party of Thyamat’s growing army. The Half Dragons despise being turned into this humanoid form, knowing that their true form is far greater (and the dragons also hate that their eggs are being used for this). But Thyamat has promised that the Half Dragons will be restored to their true forms, once she has re-entered the world.
  • Will explains that he has contacts in Lakefront, which is where the Cult was last seen. His contacts in the guards have prevented all caravans from going west due to a massive increase in bandit attacks. Said bandit attacks (while they do happen regularly) are not as bad as the guards are making it seem. This is because Will has asked the guards to stop the caravan from proceeding until they can get some of their men ‘hired as guards’ for the caravan. He urges the party to rush to Lakefront and see if they can get hired on as body guards or guards for the caravan.
  • After the meeting, Will pulls Zelona and Darcys aside and asks them to join the Order of the Light; one of the factions on this continent, set to do things and make things right. He explains, flashing the necklace to other members of the Order of Light will grant them benefits and assistance. Both accept. The symbol is an open palm, with the sun carved in the center.
  • At the same time, Leosin pulls Urthez and Kai aside, saying he noted their skills for stealth, and that’s exactly what the Raven’s Eye needs. He explains that the Raven’s Eye are a good organization; but at times, when the need calls for it, they do things that others may find questionable; but do it for the better of the people. Both accept. The ring is a feather that wraps all the way around with a raven’s eye, holding it together.
  • The party then rides to Lakefront where all but Twig, are hired as guards (both Kai and Urthez are hired on as personal guards). However, each is a guard for a separate caravan traveling west together.
  • The first stop the caravan makes is at Stone Ledge, where it’s a central ‘trading’ point for many caravans (heading in all directions from here). Urthez takes note that a human (who he spots wearing a Belaros pendant) and a female gnome (who is clearly not with the human with the Belaros pendant), but here ‘because there’s safety in numbers’ join the caravan
  • Urthez shares this information with the others, and Kai is able to discover that the gnome (has given her name as) Jemma, while the human (with the Belaros pendant) is named Azbara Jos.
  • Brolimir notices that one of the wagons that he is a guard for, has guards positioned around it every night, and all throughout the day, creating some suspicion about if the cargo might be a part of the Cult’s cargo.
  • The next stop, Zelona notices that one of the members of Brolimir’s caravan seems to be giving him a nasty looks. Zelona manages to recognize the man as one of the members who held a hostage outside of Greenhaven’s keep when the Half Dragon demanded one of the party come out and face her.
  • That night, the Cult member tries to assassinate Urthez, but is defeated when Urthez and Twig beat them. The caravan that Urthez is set to protect – the owner wonders if the assassin was out to kill him. The cult member is imprisoned in a wagon and bound, to face trial for attempted murder, once the caravan reaches King’s Hill. Brolimir meets a companion from his caravan who seems very laid back (with little to no concern, either about guarding, money, or much of anything). The two spend quite  bit of time gambling, before the Half Elf, Audius introduces himself.
  • A week after this, Zelona notices that the gnome that Urthez had spotted joining the caravan at Stone Ledge, seems to be quite nosy; speaking to everyone, listening to everyone, often sitting just outside of range of being noticeable, yet never really revealing much about herself.
  • A few days after that, early in the morning, as everyone is sitting around, about to eat their morning meal, Jemma appears and grabs Kai’s arm and stops her from eating her meal. She places her dagger into the bowl and fetches out a small, circular item, then cuts it open. When she does so, what appears to be a small spine, suddenly unwinds itself, and extends sharp edges (looking similar to a centipede’s skeleton). Urthez recognizes this as a ‘grow bone.’ Jemma explains that assassins use this to kill people. It’s small enough to be digested, but once the stomach acid breaks the outer case, the grow bone expands, and becomes impossible to digest, tearing apart the stomach insides, causing agonizing death in about two weeks. She explains that someone is out to kill the party, and she suspects it’s the Cult of Dragons.
  • The party meets with Jemma later that night, and she explains that she works for a holy man named Keyth, who is out to put a stop to the Cult of the Dragons. She says that the Cult must have a powerful magic item that they’re trying to get moved over – and that her master has great need of getting it before the Cult can use whatever it is. Zelona explains that they’ve been watching the Cult too, and perhaps they can help one another.
  • The following night, the Cult member who had tried to assassinate Urthez is found dead – but the guard who was guarding him. Brolimir who was up in the tree never saw anyone else enter or leave the wagon. Making his way down, he questions the guard who explains that he had some soup and immediately passed out. He swears it was not him who killed the Cult member, but there’s blood on his sword. With no way to prove otherwise, the caravan guards subdue him and arrest him for murder. Because Twig was there during the fight, the caravan owner that Urthez was a part of, hires Twig for the remainder of the trip as a guard for his caravan (based on the good word of Urthez)
  • It’s only two days later, that the caravan awakens to another murder – this time, one of the guards who had been a part of Brolimir’s caravan. One of the members of the caravan swears it’s the party, but the caravan concludes that there’s no evidence – only that the guard had been stabbed through the heart. The party tries to gather additional evidence, but all of the foot traffic has made it difficult. The guard insists on the fact that it’s a party member, and Twig steps up and accepts the fight to the death. It’s a short fight, with Twig killing the accusing Cult member.
  • During the fight, however, Urthez is able to get close enough through sneaking, to see what’s inside the guarded cart – where he notices a large bottle with ancient runes on it. By the time the fight is over, he steps back into the shadows unnoticed.
  • Based on the description, when Urthez explains it to the party – Kai thinks that the bottle may be something that contains a magical being – a brand of magical spirits known as ‘genies’ – however, she also knows, from legend and lore, that there are more than one kind. There are the Dao (Evil), Djinni (Good), Efreeti (Evil) and Marid (Neutral)
  • The party arrives in Kingshill – a town resting on top of a series of massive hills; with bridges between the hills that stand anywhere from fifty to a hundred feet. Even some of the structures are built on connecting hills. Waste is often dumped into the hills from high above; but down below, there’s also another town (where vagrants and beggars live; and where the main operation of a thieve’s guild known as The Fallen Hand operates; moving highly illegal and stolen objects from the ports at the edge of King’s Hill.
  • King’s Hill is extremely busy, as a central port for traders exporting and importing goods to other lands and islands (and even towns, further down the rivers).
  • The party is paid for their services and released. Brolimir and Twig head down to the port edge, where they go into a tavern called The Black Eye. It’s there, where they see some ruffians and make a bet. One of the men accepts and calls down for Ball the Ogre. Ball is a massive ogre, towering nearly 9 feet tall, and extremely meaty. The bet is for a fist fight, and Ball renders Twig unconscious after only a few rounds of fighting, while he himself is barely even hurt.
  • Urthez splits from the party and finds a thieve’s guild called The Fallen Hand, where he learns about their illegal trades and export/import of stolen goods. He tells them about the vase that the Cult has.
  • Elsewhere, Kai spots some members of the Raven’s Eye, and tells them about the vase the Cult has.
  • Kai sends her pseudo-dragon to follow the Cult’s caravan which heads to the North gate, since they will not be trading; stopping only for a night of good rest. Kai then heads to a tavern called The Cat’s Whisker and plays her music; playing so well that night, that she ends up earning 900 gold from patrons (and the owner, who is so impressed he offers her a job).
  • All of them turn in at the tavern closest to the north gate to keep an eye on the Cult’s caravan. The party is awoken early in the morning, before the sun has even risen over the horizon, to the sound of battle and a riot. They look outside and see a massive fight has broken out, outside the North Gate (involving the Raven’s Eye and the Fallen Hand; both of which were trying to recover the Vase for their own reasons). Members of the Cult, also staying in the tavern, rush out and get involved in the fight, to protect their goods. Twig goes and gets Ball the Ogre, to help – and Ball all too eagerly joins the fight – cutting down anyone and everyone in his way – whether with the Thieve’s Guild or with the Raven’s Eye – until the authorities finally arrive and regain control of the street, arresting all involved, including Ball the Ogre, who surrenders freely, having enough the melee, mayhem and murder. The party remains in the tavern and does not get involved. The remaining Cult members, now feeling like too much attention has been drawn to them begins their caravan move early; and the party rushes out to get hired by other caravans also going the same direction (west).
  • The caravan moves west, through the woods, and does not encounter any trouble. It’s not until they reach the swaps that the caravan is attacked by giant frogs, who prove problematic to the party, but are eventually defeated.
  • The caravans eventually stop at a two story road house, affectionately called The Mudbath. Caravans are pulled inside and unloaded, then the horses, mules, and donkeys are put in the stables, and caravan members are given rooms that they’re forced to share for the night.
