No Stone Unturned (Character Origin written by Jake. Minor edits/changes by Tawmis)

SIN-gRIM lived in the rocky mountains on a limestone cliff side with his parents, three sisters, and his two brothers, all of which he shared a burrow with. He and his family were a part of a very – but also, very average – clan.

If they were known for anything, it would be that they are trouble makers / instigators. SIN-gRIM and his brothers are very competitive when it come to clever jokes / tricks, or who’s the best tinkerer.

On SIN-gRIM’s 100th birthday, his family threw him a month long party, where many clans had attended to celebrate him becoming an adult. He got many gifts, the one that stood out the most was gear to go explore the world. All Gnomes are encouraged to go out and explore the world and report back what you have learned; and it was time that SIN-gRIM venture into the world. News of Dragons having entered the world several years before his birth certainly sparked his imagination as to how much the world would change, re-introducing such a dynamic.

SIN-gRIM traveled the world and saw some of the wonders, keeping a low profile. (The Dragons had indeed returned – and not all of them were good!) Roughly, a decade later, SIN-gRIM heard news of his clan having their annual “Green Stone Festival.” After being gone for so long, and excited to share what he had learned, he headed home, in hopes of making it back in time for the Green Stone Festival. Instead, what he found was the wet limestone littered with dead gnomes, burnt down buildings, and Kobolds. While searching for his Clan’s remains, he felt a sharp pain in his neck, and moments later welcomed blackness.

SIN-gRIM awoke in a dark room, shackled at the ankles. He saw the silhouette standing in the doorway, which clearly appeared to be an elf, by the slender build. The Elf offered him a place to stay as long as he “contributed to the guild.” The Elf, a Wild Elf by the name of Aserack, introduced him to the Thieves Guild known as The Coastal Daggers.

It wasn’t long before Aserack noticed that SIN-gRIM had an unusual knack for doing tricks that fooled the eyes and got him in touch with another elf – a Wild Elf also, by the name of Tresdrin – Aserack’s brother, who specialized in Magic. Tresdrin detected magic in SIN-gRIM and offered to teach him.

After learning some minor magic, Tresdrin revealed that he would accompany him to Lakefront, and that there was report of some Cultists operating in and around Lakefront. Unfortunately, the Cultists became suspicious of them both – and just outside Lakefront, set up a meeting with them, where they were ambushed and taken to a castle in the swamp – and from there, teleported to a prison in the mountains.
