  • Aros – Lightfoot Halfling, Rogue
  • Galiena Erenaeth – Half Elf, Celestial Warlock / Druid
    • Dearbhán – NPC, Fairy Dragon (Galiena’s pet)
    • Kavium – NPC, Tiefling Paladin (Oath of Conquest)
    • Darko Wintersage – NPC, Undead Wizard (Flame Skull)
  • Baldur – Human, Pack Chain Warlock (Spear) / Paladin
    • Hellina Kaitlyn Deramu – Human NPC, Wererat
  • Having reconnected with the goblin Kra’krar and five other goblins
  • Aros, who had stealthed down with the idea of cutting one of the goblins with his enchanted blade, Lycan Blade, cuts one of the goblins who doesn’t seem to react. He watches in horror as four, large, wolf-like creatures enter the camp; and from here, Aros gets a very good look at them; and while, they do appear like wolves; they also appear to be somewhat demonic in nature
  • Kavium strains to look and points out that these do not look like normal werewolves, and points out that the “werebats” that were goblins were also very unusual looking (DM Note – The party encountered them in the mines of Kaltore in Session 20)
  • Aros begins quietly moving up the hill and dragging the unconscious goblin from the camp with him; and gets him about half way up the hill – the goblin’s unconscious body begins to weigh on Aros, who is trying to drag an unconscious body whose body weight equal to his own; dragging this goblin by his foot up the hill
  • Aros keeps trying to tug the unconscious goblin up the hill; and gets it caught on some bushes, and so as Baldur and the others try to see Aros, they fail to see him, but they do see a goblin’s leg thrusting in and out of the bushes
  • “Don’t worry,” Baldur assures Kra’krar, “this is normal for him. He does weird things in the bushes. He’s getting it out of his system. The mission will start shortly.”
  • “It’s true,” Kavium nods, “I’ve seen him trim his bush and do odd things with his rubber ducky in the bushes.”
  • Aros finally peeks out of the bushes, and gestures for them to come down. Baldur, Kavium, and Galiena try to make their way down – but suddenly take a tumble down the hill – entangling all of them, smashing into the hill side, making loud noise; Aros just watches and shakes his head; he turns and notices that the “werewolves” begin rushing forward. Aros takes another deep sigh. (DM Note – All three failed their Stealth check, so I flavored it as them tumbling down the hill side)
  • One of the goblin werewolves (known as Barghest) rushes up on Aros; sinking it’s teeth into Aros and biting him deep
  • The second, rushes up to Galiena, just as she stands and bites into her arm, which she raises defensively, doing much more damage; and manages to claw her as well, making her very, very bloody
  • In an effort to help Galiena, Baldur tries to stab the werewolf creature – and stabs Galiena instead. Baldur hears Khor’taur the spirit of a Amethyst dragon trapped in the spear say, “You missed.”
  • While the spear is in her stomach he channels a Shield of Faith through the spear into Galiena, “Sorry about that – hope the spell helps…”
  • Galiena taps her Fey Staff on the ground and uses Misty Step to step away from combat, holding her insides, as blood pours from her wounds; then she quickly quaffs a potion recovering some health
  • The remaining werewolf creature in the camp rushes over and attacks Kavium, and bites deep into his leg
  • As Kavium fights two of them, Galiena quaffs a few more potions and focuses on Witch Bolt to strike at these goblin werewolves
  • The battle rages on, for quite some time, with both sides taking heavy hits; but the favor finally seems to (barely) turn in favor for the party – though most of them are bloody, they manage to down three of the four “werewolves” – but the fourth one is proving to be quite formidable as it takes hits, and even manages to down Kavium
  • Galiena seeing Kavium go down, focuses a Witch Bolt – doing maximum damage and finally dropping the beast
  • Galiena slides over to Kavium but in her haste (and perhaps concern?) she messes up her medicine check; Aros however, manages to help stabilize him; then Baldur and Galiena both cast Cure Wounds to help Kavium; then everyone takes their time quaffing potions to regenerate some of their health lost during the battle
  • Kra’krar and the others slide down the hill and congratulate the party on their successful fight; as they were shooting arrows at the goblins in the camp. He goes on to explain that the old woman named Krysinda was the one who “bestowed the gift” to their tribe
  • Galiena, Aros and Kavium exchange glances; it’s the same name they just heard with the “murder gnomes” (the Red Caps – See Session 30) and the same name of the “old woman” who had “blessed a treant” in Kaltore, the mining town (See Session 18 and Session 19)
  • “I have a feeling we’re going to have to do something about that woman,” Kavium moans. “Her name keeps coming up.” Galiena nods her head in agreement, glad to see Kavium still among the living
  • Kra’krar and the other goblins with him, begin gathering the slain goblins and “werewolves” and dragging their bodies to the large fire in the center of camp and begin burning the bodies; the odor is atroicious
  • Kra’krar offers the party the opportunity to take a rest in their encampment
  • The goblins celebrate, even as the bodies of their formerly deceased companions burn in the center; pulling out some goblin drink, which has questionable odor; and Baldur partakes in the drink – while it doesn’t get him intoxicated, he’s able to determine it’s a mixture of mud and some kind of unknown berries
  • Kra’Krar, the following morning, approaches Baldur, and says, “I am Chief now. If you need anythin, come to me.”
  • “Do you have any healing potions?” Aros asks
  • Chief Kra’krar looks at the charred foot of one of the goblin corpses that burned all night, and says, “No. That there. That was our alchemist. He turned with the others. We will have to learn how to make the potions he did. But Alchemy runs strong in my veins. My father was supposedly a great alchemist.”
  • “So what resources do you have?” Baldur asks
  • “There’s a tunnel system throughout this entire island,” Chief Kra’krar explains. “I believe it was made from the ankhegs who dwell here.” (DM Note – The party encountered some of these creatures in Session 22 and Session 23) He goes on to explain, “They’ve burrowed under cities, towns, mountains. It’s a very expansive tunnel system. We’ve been exploring it – one of the entrances isn’t far from here. Come back here some time, and I can tell you what we’ve found.”
  • As the trio make their way back to Greenhaven, very tired, despite the rest in the goblin encampment; they’re still cut up and bruised when they hear the sound of someone shouting. As they get closer, they’re able to see several of Lord Brenmoon’s armed men shouting at someone – someone Galiena quickly recognizes, due to the magnificent horses – it’s Ramgor – and with him, a small, redheaded halfling named Annie Longstocking, that Aros quickly recognizes from the Orphanage in Felhorn
  • The guard seems to be shouting at them about having seen a woman they’re looking for and all of them quickly spot the wanted poster of Galiena being shown to Ramgor and Annie
