- Ferin Unthall explains that during her time as a prisoner of the Githyanki, she could understand the bastardized version of Elvish they were speaking – and the Githyanki had said that the captured dragon (Aoil the Emerald Dragon) is being held in these caverns by others – and that having done so has been beneficial in manipulating another dragon (Kvars, the Topaz Dragon) all the while placing the blame on – she gestures towards Moonstone and the others – “On the Earth Genasi.”
- She explains from what she understood – the Emerald Dragon was being held in a large cavern somewhere in this mountain by some Githyanki. It wasn’t ever made clear how these Githyanki are keeping this Emerald Dragon in check however.
- Zor, who is still extracting poison and meat from the slain millipede (see Session 90), while drenched in blood and guts, says in Draconic to Sephrenia, “I know Kvars! Who you call Kvars, we call Zapot! He same. We can call him. We know where. How he listen to us. We call him?”
- As Sephrenia translates what Zor is saying – she learns that Zor and his group worship “Zapot” – and that they are able to call him whenever they need to (usually to give him gems they’ve unearthed).
- The party discusses summoning “Zapot” to explain that the Earth Genasi do not have Aoil, as he believes; but it is in fact the Githyanki that do. However, in talking with Zor, they learn that there would be no easy way for Zapot to move through the caves and that Zapot could get pinned in the narrowing passages. And as the party discusses, there’s no promise that “Zapot” would believe them – and potentially attack them because of the Earth Genasi present with them.
- The party agrees that the better move would be finding Aoil, and freeing her; which would free “Zapot” from his obligation of helping the Githyanki. As the party talks amongst each other and often turn to Zor for more information…
- The party discovers that Zor knows where “the green dragon” is being held (which the party deduces is Aoil, the Emerald dragon) – and explains that he’s had to drop off food to the Githyanki before, while enslaved to them (before being liberated by the pale elf lady and her owlbear deity and friends!)
- Sephrenia asks if Zor can lead them back and he explains he can’t – but he won’t. He explains that there’s a giant serpent when you get close to where the “green dragon” is being held. And if you get past the giant serpent, there’s a “giant snake creature but like millipede – many, many, many legs.”
- As they discuss more and more about this “many legged serpent” – but Adrian and Korra believe they’re aware of what Zor is describing – something they’d seen back at the carnival awhile ago – it’s a Behir. (See Session 48, 49, 50 and 51)
- Zor draws on a parchment that Sephrenia hands him a rough map explaining they’re the “X”, the giant serpent is the red and black, the green dragon in rope, githyanki next to it, and serpent with many legs in the upper right
- The party decides that they will make camp in the Githyanki camp for the night, before proceeding towards the “big snake” and the “snake with many legs” – as they look around, they realize that only Sephrenia has a bell roll – the others, over time have found ways to discard theirs and thus making camping in the wild difficult. (DM Note: House rule, if you sleep out in the wild without a bed roll, you get the effects of a “Full Rest” except for hit points – those will need to be required through using Hit Dice).
- The party makes camp (expending hit dice as needed) for the night.
- The following morning, speaking more with about the giant snake – it’s Sephrenia who recalls what it sounds like – the party had encountered “Bone Naga” twice (See Session 18 and Session 67) – and this was sounding like some other kind of Naga – it’s impressive, considering Sephrenia’s damaged intellect (See Session 77).
- Sephrenia thanks Zor and the others for all the information that they’ve provided to the party and reminds them of the agreement of two gems a month – once this war is over – to be delivered to the Earth Genasi who would then transport it to the party
- Following Zor’s map, the party carefully makes their way down the cavern path; when they get near the location of the Naga, they locate several dead Drow
- Sephrenia turns to Ferin Unthall and asks if those are her soldiers; and she nods and confirms, recognizing their uniforms. She explains these were the Drow that fled with General Va’rum, but that he was not among the dead.
- Sephrenia asks if it’s possible that General Va’rum may still be around.
- Ferin nods – and begins rhythmically tapping her blade, ever so lightly, on a nearby stone – and Korra quickly picks up that Ferin is using something similar to Thieves Cant – where the taps are actually broadcasting a message, but seem like harmless sounds one might hear in a cave.
- After a moment, there’s a response and Ferin confirms that General Va’rum and several other of his soldiers are still alive and nearby
- The party looks over at the Naga and can see that she has quite a few arrows and spears still in her from General Va’rum’s attack on the Naga.
- Sephrenia upcasts her Bless spell on herself, as well as Adrian, Don, and Korra; as well as Ferin, Moonstone and Terra
- Adrian uses Protection from Poison: On Himself, Ferin, and Terra, believing that Korra may have built up an immunity to many poisons (DM Note – This is an ongoing joke because Korra has tried using the Drow Poison Dagger she got a long time ago and kept Critical Failing, injecting herself instead of the target with the poison)
- As combat starts – Sephrenia displays her hatred for the Githyanki and their servants by scoring a Critical Hit on the Naga!
- However, the Naga is also prepared – as she gets a Natural 20 on a Wisdom save!
- Ferin also proves her worth to the party, scoring back to back critical rolls…
- General Va’rum and his soldiers lend towards the fight
- It is a long combat, with injuries being delivered to the the party – but it is the party that is finally victorious against the Spirit Naga.
- The party then decides that Don can uses Pass Without A Trace and he and Korra can move ahead to investigate where the Emerald Dragon is being imprisoned. Don and Korra spot the Emerald dragon encased in a glowing net – there’s a behir snapping at the dragon and only being held back by a Githyanki holding an orb – and a second Githyanki that is wearing a necklace – and on that necklace the Elder Ring of Air! The ring Korra is searching for – the final ring – her people’s ring to command the Elder Elemental!
- Don and Korra stealth back and explain what they’ve seen in the room – and it’s a very, very, very, very large room (roughly 300×300 square feet).
