Born In Darkness.
Urthez and Twig couldn’t be further apart, despite sharing the same parents. Both Urthez and Twig were born when members of the Broken Hand tribe had taken an interest in raiding small towns and abducting women for the sole purpose of enslaving and breeding with them.

Urthez and Twig’s father was a brutal, tribal leader of the smaller armies that composed of the Broken Hand. He had abducted and enslaved a human woman, for the sole purpose of breeding with her. She became pregnant and had twins. Born in the slave pens, Urthez and Twig were taken away from their mother almost instantly. At a young age, Urthez and Twig’s father, Blackmaw, saw potential in his sons. In Urthez, he saw a quickness, while in Twig, he saw a ferocity that matched his own.

For years, Blackmaw trained his sons, honing their skills. It was during their first true siege against a human village, that Blackmaw would be disappointed. Urthez could not go through with the attack and killing when the actual siege had begun. Urthez left, leaving his father and twin brother behind. Instead, Urthez began focusing on helping the humans against the orc sieges, becoming somewhat of a folk hero among the humans.

Blackmaw knew his own son was standing against him and sent Twig to take care of it, believing that Urthez would be too weak to strike down his own brother. Twig eventually tracked down his brother, who had been protected by humans. Blackmaw was correct in assuming that Urthez would not attack his own brother; instead, Urthez compelled Twig to look at the humans more closely. He escorted Twig through the ravaged village of humans who had recently been attacked. Twig saw that there was no true honor in what his father was doing, but attacking villagers, rather than actual soldiers.

Twig agreed to side with Urthez, and help fight against their father’s raids. Their father, Blackmaw grew insanely furious that his favored warrior son had turned against him. Blackmaw put a bounty on both of his sons, seeking their deaths. When word reached them about the bounty, while Twig sought to stand up against his father, Urthez convinced his brother that they would be slaughtered and his father would win. Together, they booked passage on a ship leaving the main land, swearing to one day return and put Blackmaw in his place.
