Hailing from Hillsborough, Dingo was a Lightfoot Halfling who found it difficult to focus on any one thing for more than a week, much to the dismay of his parents. It certainly wasn’t that he couldn’t do the tasks that were being asked of him and more to do with it lacked any challenge. His parents owned a large apple orchard and while picking apples was profitable for the family (his family had some of the best apples in all the land!), Dingo could not be bothered to do it.
What appealed to Dingo was when the travelers would come through Hillsborough looking to make trades; and seeing what Dingo could get from them. Not through bartering, but through the act of theft. He had begun “stealing” not for profit, but because that was something that thrilled him. The risk of being caught and the danger that came with it accelerated his heartbeat like nothing else he’d ever done.
Eventually, like many Lightfoot Halflings, the “wanderlust” kicked in; and when a traveling band of adventurers came through, Dingo asked if he could go with them to the next closest town. As he traveled with them, the adventurers were speaking, in excited tones about some new continent that had been discovered a number of years ago that was recently churning quite a few relics and artifacts said to be of great value.
This peaked Dingo’s interest and he, as well as one of the travelers, a half-orc named Sumyungsloth, bonded over the notion of what these treasures might be. The stories typically spoke of ancient pyramids buried in a desert area known as “The Broken Lands” – pyramids that were said to be full of danger, death, traps and vast treasure.
When the party arrived at Moontide Port, Sumyungsloth and Dingo both booked passage aboard the Alpha Dawn, heading for this new continent and new life…
