• The heroes have made a living of Ridgecrest, living there for four months
• During this time, they helped solve the mystery of the “Crimson Murderer” who happened to be yet another Doppleganger
• Though concern about Dopplegangers has increased, with the Crismon Murderer put to an end, the gates of Ridgecrest have once again opened to trade, and bringing prosperity and wealth to the large city
• The mayor from Spire’s Edge, which had been attacked by a dragon several months ago, has discovered that the Cult of Dragons has become increasingly more active
• Urthez has learned through the Rogue’s Guild connection that the Cult of Dragons has indeed increased their activity; oddly enough they’re not interested in killing, but rather only treasure; attacking small towns initially, then larger towns as time has pressed on, rarely taking slaves or killing (only killing those that got in the way or refused to give up their treasures)
• Kai, through her bard connections has learned that the Cult of Dragons has gone on to hire mercenaries to bolster their numbers, until the Cult of Dragons is at full strength, and that their intention is to return of Thyamat, the five headed evil dragon that rules over the evil chromatic dragons (red, blue, black, green, and white)
• The adventurers are asked to go to Green Haven, the rumored next target of the Cult of Dragons to the west of Ridgecrest
• They voyage takes several days and nights, and the party arrives during the night to find the town of Green Haven attacked by kobolds and a blue dragon
• Rushing down to save the people of Green Haven, the party successfully escorts stragglers to the keep
• At the keep they speak with the governor, who asks them to try and capture one of the Cult of Dragons leaders
• They party exists through a secret tunnel of the keep and manage to track down one of the leaders and capture her alive and bring her back to the keep
• The governor then asks them to go mill to save it from being attacked
• The party does so, finding out that it’s an ambush, and that members of the Cult of Dragons were hiding inside the mill
• The party over comes their foes and returns to the keep
• They governor then asks them to save the people from the Church
• The party agrees, and once again uses the tunnel. Several of them use the cover of the river to float past several patrols and guards of the Cult, while others confront them head on. The party engages in a battle in front of the Church with several patrols including an Ambush Drake that Twig insists on cutting the head off of to keep
• In doing so, hacking away, several patrols engage in battle with the party, until Twig is finally able to severe the head and keep it
• The party safely returns to the keep
• At the Keep, what appears to be a Dragonborn of Black Dragons, appears and challenges a single hero to combat or it will kill some of the villagers it captured
• Twig accepts the challenge and falls before the enemy; rather than killing him, they merely say, “Just as I suspected,” and leave him there to bleed
• The party comes down and stabilizes him as the Cult of Dragons make their escape, leaving Green Haven ransacked
• The governor asks them to follow the Cult and find the treasure, if possible, but more importantly find out where the Cult plans to strike next or do with the treasure they’re aquiring
• Beaten and bruised the party is forced to rest for the night, giving the Cult a good headstart
• Though the Cult is pulling a massive wagon, the party manages to catch up to the rear guard and defeat them, learning from a mercenary that the Cult of Dragons has look outs up ahead
• Scouting ahead, the spot the look outs and Brolimir casts Moonbeam, but their enemies are protected by magic; and thus sound the alarm
• The party chooses to bolt past them, but is soon arrested by the members of the Cult of Dragons, except for Urthez who has slipped into the bushes and escaped capture, and Brolimir who has taken a wolf form and thrown in with the other wargs in the Cult’s kennel
• Urthez learns some information about the Cult as he makes his way through the camp, finding the others in a prison cell (with two guards inside, and two guards outside)
• Zelona uses a sleep command on the two guards inside, while Urthez and Brolimir force the outside guards inside by rushing them. The guards are overcome and the party is freed, donning on their armor and weapons, preparing for the next move
