- Adrian Silverstrength (Human Paladin)
- Dick Poop (High Elf Wizard)
- Morsus Firebeard (Hill Dwarf Cleric)
- Rex Jams (Bronze Dragonborn Bard)
- Apostrophe (Goliath Cleric)
- After clearing out the mines, the party returned to Spire’s Edge
- The party spoke with the Mayor, Barus Gravestone and explained the situation and got their reward of 200 gold
- Thoris Blackoak, owner of “A Stone’s Throw Inn/Tavern” offers a free room to the party for their actions in helping Spire’s Edge
- Adrian takes one of the gems he found in the mine, and a handful of gold and visits the local brothel (since he worships the goddess of sexuality and hedonism)
- He enjoys himself with a fair looking maiden, and enjoys some additional enhancements, and awakens the next morning in a bed with two additional women, with no memory of what happened
- Dick and Rex go down to the tavern to drink, where Dick takes a shot of the potent “Dragon’s Breath” drink
- Rex attempts to take a swig of the same drink, but due to his recent petritification he succumbs quickly (critical fail, roll a “1” on the Constitution check)
- Rex ends up starting a fight, flipping tables and despite Dick’s best attempt, is arrested for the damage he’s done
- The next morning Thoris collects gold from the party to pay for the damage that’d been done during Rex’s intoxicated bliss to the tavern
- The party then goes to speak to Tarn Bladesinger, the local blacksmith (who supplies the town with weapons and armor)
- They try to sell the fine swords that were found at the mines, but discover that they’re swords related to the guards that Tarn had made
- Tarn explains that the blades would be buried with the guards (whose bodies were now being recovered from the mines, now that the party has cleared it out)
- The party agrees to hand over the swords to Tarn to give to the family so that they can be buried with them (since the belief, similar to Vikings is that, warriors are buried with their weapons that they take with them to the after life)
- Tarn explains that he’s heard that the Mayor may be in need of the party’s assistance again
- Dick then speaks to Tora Rhinestone, the Priestess of Life in Spire’s Edge about removing the curse on the Razataun Dagger
- After 200 gold (for the resources) and a 2 hour process, the curse of the dagger is broken
- The party returns to Mayor Barus, who explains that his workers who gather lumber from the Jade Forest (closest woods near Spire’s Edge) to help rebuild the town (for buildings and walls, etc) – the workers refuse to enter the woods now, and wouldn’t even get close – only stating that something feels wrong
- The Mayor asks the party to go to the Jade Forest and see if it’s just some superstitious thing or if there’s a reason to be worried
- The party has a wagon horse take them, close to the Jade Forest and departs
- The party walks the rest of the way to the Jade Forest, and immediately noticed that there was no nature sounds (no birds, no squirrels, etc)
- The party cautiously enters, and soon after is nearly hit by an arrow and discover that it’s three centaurs who essentially warn the party not to enter, and turn around, because the evil inside will consume them
- The party thanks them for the warning and continues on their way
- It’s not long before they notice that the interior of the forest turns into what resembles a jungle
- Morsus uses a ritual spell to detect magic and senses magic all around him, that feels like Necromancy
- Treading inside further, they find some unusual tracks of a large animal, that seems to have several foot prints; as if it had more than 4 legs
- Pushing further, they find some statues that look very realistic, and with the recent experience with the cockatrice – the party knows these are not statues that were hand crafted, but by something else
- Morsus climbs a tree and sees movement in the trees of a large animal moving towards them
- The party quickly begins running deeper into the jungle, in the opposite direction, and blindly stumble into a displacer beast
- The Displacer Beast lashes out in a surprise round, that renders the Bard unconscious
- Morsus does healing word that brings the Bard back up
- The Displacer Beast then lashes out at Adrian and nearly knocks him unconscious
- Apostrophe casts healing word to heal Adrian
- Morsus moves between everyone and the Displacer Beast to draw its attention, and is knocked out for it
- The party eventually defeats the Displacer Beast, but the party is beaten down and burnt out of spells
- Using javelins, they fortify their small camp and try to rest for the night to recover health and magic…
